How to craft a great tutor profile

Scoodle is teeming with students searching for helpful and experienced tutors. Your profile is the first place students look to find out more about you so it’s essential to craft a detailed profile highlighting your strengths so that you stand out from the crowd.

Here are some of the tried and tested ways to create a brilliant tutor profile and increase your bookings.

Get Verified

Firstly and most importantly is the task of getting verified. It’s a quick process and requires you to provide UK bank account details, Government ID and proof of address. As a bit of encouragement, not only do we need your account to be verified to process your payments, but students are 93% more likely to book with a tutor who is verified. Additionally, verified tutors rank higher than those who are not, so get digging for that paperwork!

Upload a profile picture

Next, ensure you have uploaded a clear, high-resolution profile picture that shows your face. This won’t take long at all and fosters trust between tutors and students, giving them an idea of who to expect for the lesson. It's well worth doing, you’ll rank higher in the search results and our analytics show that 98% of tutors with bookings have profile pictures.

Time to shine

Remember, our algorithm does the hard work getting students to your page but once they are there, you need to impress them! You should fully utilise the About and Education sections to showcase your wealth of experience in as much detail as possible. Be sure to include the levels at which you teach (GCSE, A-Level, 11+), along with any previous tutoring experience, your education history and perhaps a description of your teaching style. Sharpening your tagline would also strengthen your profile. Try to keep it interesting and punchy. If you have an impressive number of years teaching behind you or you’re an expert examiner for an exam board, mention this here!

Availability

This one’s simple, no one likes wasting time so try to keep potential students in the loop. Ensure the Availability section of your profile is accurate to avoid any confusion or enquiries from students that you can’t help. If you're too busy or fully booked and need to take a break from tutoring please use the Availability section to select 'Temporarily Inactive' so that students have realistic expectations about their enquiries.

In summary, crafting the perfect tutor profile is nothing short of an art. Luckily for you, we’ve made it super easy through our savvy user experience so why not have a glance over your own profile and see if you can improve it with any of the tips above!
