How do you calculate the energy rating of an appliance

The energy rating of an appliance tells you how efficient it is. You may see stickers that have a tower of letters with the more efficient ones labeled A, A+, and less efficient ones as C or D. They tell you how much of the energy you supply is used usefully. For example, you may supply a kettle with 100J of energy of which 15J is used to heat up the water. The other 85J may be used as sound or fo... more

The tax rate on Jerome Jame's $112,000 vacation home is 25 mills. The property is assessed at full value. How much will Jerome pay in taxes this year? A. $780 B. $7,800 C. $2,800 D. $28,00

Hello,

As mention in the question,

Tax Rate = 25 mills = 2.5 % (25/1000)

Principal Amount = $112000

Period = Time = 1 year

Thus we see this as a mathematical equation in the form of simple interest (SI)

SI = (principal amount * tax rate * time) / 100

SI = (112000 * 2.5*1)/100

= $2800

Hope this helps to get your answer

Can someone help explain the process of electrolysis

The negative electrode is connected to the negative terminal of cell/battery in a DC circuit. This electrode is called the cathode. Think of the cathode as being covered with electrons that are coming from the cell. So the cathode is negatively charged.

The positive electrode is called the anode. This is connected to the positive terminal of the cell/battery. Think of the anode as having a lack... more

What is the best way to revise so the information gets stuck in your head and you don’t forget it

1. Firstly understand the topic. You may find it easier if you organise the topic into a tree of questions which explain the topic to the foundational knowledge required to grasp the concept.

2. Apply the concept in questions or revisit the material in a way where you need to pull information out of your head. You can do this via past papers or flash cards. This is known as active recall. This p... more
