I really want to learn Arabic, but I don't know where to start. Any advice?

If you want to learn conversational Arabic (Modern Standard Arabic) to be able to speak it, you can do the following things: 1) lots of Mastering Arabic books 2) Duolingo app is good for small 10 minute bursts of learning every day 3) immersive learning - do a Study Abroad in an Arabic country (warning: each country has a strong dialect i.e E... more

3) Write a function to represent the set of ordered pairs.{(2, 2), (3, 7), (4, 14), (5, 23)}A) f(x) = x B) f(x) = 4x - 6 C) f(x) = x2 - 2 D) f(x) = 2x2 - 6

C Given ordered pairs, if you plug in x you’ll find that the equation is satisfied. (2,2) x=2, y=2 and x^2 - 2 = 4 - 2 = 2. Try it out for the remaining ordered pairs.

If you want to learn Arabic within a year so you can read classical books and speak/understand, how many hours a week would I need?

That's a great question. Arabic language requires a strong grammar framework to be able to comfortably understand the text you are reading. It doesn't work like most european languages. For this reason, I'd say you should start with a strong focus on grammar. To supplement this, I'd also recommend watching kids shows in Arabic (try and find one that actually enjoy)! The sooner you can get your t... more

I was told that the best way to learn Arabic is to immerse yourself for a few months in an Arabic speaking country. Is this actually true? I don't have a background in Arabic at all so I don't know if this is the best way to start.

It definitely is one of the fastest way to build your vocabulary and get used to listening, reading, and talking the language fluently, as you would be forced, in many situations, to communicate with people who can only speak the Arabic language. So if possible, it is one of the *best* ways to immerse yourself, however it is not the only way to do so of course. With zero background in Arabic, it... more
