5(p+7)=8
Firstly, expand the left side of the equation. You can do this by multiplying the 5 by both terms in the brackets. This will get you 5p + 35 = 8 Then, we want to isolate p. To do this, we can subtract 35 from both sides of the equation. 5p = 8 - 35 -> 5p = -27 Finally, divide both sides by 5 to obtain the value of p. p = -27/5
