Calculate the number in the middle of 14 and 29

To calculate the number between 14 and 29, you just have to add them together and halve the answer. Therefore the middle number would be: 14 + 29 = 43, then 43/2 = 21.5 So the number halfway between 14 and 29 is 21.5

A crane has a cable with a breaking strain of 6400 kg measured to 2 significant figures. It is used to lift crates which weigh 90 kg measured to the nearest 10 kg. What is the greatest number of crates that can safely be lifted at one time without br

number of crates that can be lifted = weight of crane/ weight of each crate so, n = 6400/90 n = 71.11... so the greatest it can lift must be 71 as you cannot lift 0.11... of a crane and if you lift 72 the crane would break. Any more questions? Let me know :)

At the start of 2014 tim’s house was worth £100000 the value of the house increased by 10% every year work out the value of his house at the start of 2018

This one can be easily done using a method called compound interest: 100 000 × 1.1^4 = £146 410 You multiply by 1.1 as the price increases by 10% each year. So the price in 2015 is 110% more than in 2014. And you do it to the power of 4 as that is how many years passes by.

Convince me that angles in a triangle add up to 180

Hi Slime, The angles in a triangle add up to 180 degrees, because of the fact that one exterior angle equals the sum of two interior angles in the triangle. thus, angles in the triangle combine with another angle to form a 180-degree angle.

Find the quotient of 4 4/5 and 2 2/5

Step 1: make the 2 fractions into improper fractions so it’s 24/5 divide 12/5 When dividing fractions always flip the numerator and denominator of the second fraction and this changes the division into a multiplication. So you should now get 24/5 times 5/12 which is 120 divide 60 The final answer is 2
