What are the values of x using the factorization method in 4x^2 - 2x -15=0

You would use the quadratic formula: x = -b +- square root of b^2 - 4ac / 2a ax^2 + bx + c = 0 4x^2 - 2x - 15 = 0 using this we know that a = 4, b = -2 and c = -15 the we substitute those values into the equation on a calculator: x = -(-2) + square root (-2)^2 - 4(4)(-15) / 2(4) x = -(-2) - square root (-2)^2 - 4(4)(-15) / 2(4) this gives x to be x = 1 +- square root 61 / 4
