APPLYING FOR OXBRIDGE
Asked by Maya

How will my GCSE grades affect my chances in Oxford? I got mostly 8s, a 9, a few 7s and one 6, but I feel these don’t represent how well I would have done having sat the GCSEs, as I was likely to push most of those up but it wasn’t taken into account?

When your Oxbridge application is reviewed, everything is taken into account. Your personal statements, you a level grades, you reference, and your performance in the interview. The grades you say you are got are more than enough to get into Oxbridge and by assessing the other parts of your application, the admissions team will be able to see that you would have probable done even better if you had actually sat the GCSEs. I would say to not worry at all about the grades you have and instead make sure you put your effort into getting good a level grades (A*AA or A*A*A depending on the course you want to do at Oxbridge)
