Using the base pair rule we know that the ratio of adenine and thymine should be 1:1 and the ratio of guanine and cytosine should be 1:1. Therefore, in your question we know that the percentage of thymine is 20%. This makes up 40% of the DNA strand. We have 60% left which is going to be split equally between guanine and cytosine. Therefore we have 30% of guanine.
