In both prokaryotes & eukaryotes how many copies of the chromesome are left after replication?

Hello, this is a bit of a strange question as it depends on what kind of division is taking place. Mitotic division leaves daughter cells with the same number of chromosomes as the patent cells, whilst meiosis (production of gametes/ sex cells) leaves daughter cells with half the genetic information as the parent cells. Prokaryotes generally have DNA stored in circular plasmid, as opposed to chromosomes in eukaryotes. Hope that helps
