Sensory neurone transmit an impulse from the source towards the central nervous system. The impulse is transferred to the interneurons across the synapses via neurotransmitters. The impulse then passes through the CNS to the correct motor neurone. At the end of the motor neurone is a muscle, gland, organ. The impulse causes a contraction of a muscle.
