At Scoodle we understand that everyone learns in a different way. Some people learn through practice, using essays and notes; others prefer video lessons to watch and learn, some just need help with a specifically hard question, while some learn best 1-on-1 tutoring sessions. At Scoodle we cater for all types of learning styles and needs. From GCSE Maths video lessons to A-level English essays and specialist educators in every subject - we’ve got you covered.
Have a degree in Biology and a PGCE
Im a secondary teacher that enjoys teaching Biology
Dedicated tutor and undergraduate at Institute of Education, UCL
With 12 years experience in teaching I know my subjects well. I have taught GCSE Science and A-level Biology with a variety of exam boards meaning I am confident in what I deliver. I have a middle management role in my school so I know all about the curriculum and how to best to deliver my subjects. When I am not teaching I love photography and walking. I often combine both taking my camera and capturing what I see.
Second year dental student, happy to help :)
Hi, my name is Abdur and I’m currently studying Dentistry at the University of Bristol. I’d describe myself as a kind and friendly person who loves to teach using evidence-based techniques. As a dental student, a lot of my time is spent learning but also teaching others as it reinforces the knowledge I’ve gained from lectures, seminars and clinical sessions. I’d describing my style of teaching as interactive and personal as everyone has their own way of grasping topics. What sets my teaching apart from others is that it integrates core topics and links the common themes which cements the information to a deeper level of understanding. This is something I’ve used in my own studies which has helped me to ranked in the top 10 for the end of Year 1 exams and over achieve over 70% in end of Year 2 exams. I have been tutoring and mentoring students since 2016. What I’ve learnt from this experience is that building confidence in students is one of the key components to boosting grades. I highlight strengths and weaknesses so we can reinforce the areas which require more attention. This is through evidence-based teaching called active recall. The purpose of this method is to stimulate the mind through questioning rather than passive learning. Passive learning is something many students are guilty of which often leads to average grades. Through active learning it highlights areas that requires more attention. Spaced repetition will help to prevent forgetting important information and enables long term storage of knowledge which is crucial for exams!
Excellent Civil Engineering student offering A level Maths & Sciences support
I am a civil engineering student and I studied Maths, Physics and Chemistry as my A level subjects, from which I got outstanding results, A*AA. This led me to studying civil engineering at a Russell Group Uni - Warwick University! I am also working at the same time at a big Engineering company as an Assistant Civil Engineer. My excellent academic career has nurtured in me a natural talent for teaching. My experiences have taught me how to tackle one problem at a time, and I believe that using this approach—paired with my unconventional examples that force students to think outside the box—I can truly provide an excellent understanding and explanation. One of the main reasons you are seeing this ad is that I really enjoy teaching Maths, numbers and everything that has to do with it, because every day, every step is Maths, believe me! Also, I am very dedicated to making others understand it better and change their attitude towards this subject, as I hear many people say they 'hate it'. So, if that is you, you're in the right place! I also love teaching Sciences as they communicate us the way the universe is created and why everything happens! The first time I realised that people understand the way I explain things, was with my friends; sometimes they would understand me better than the teacher and I have volunteered at school and other organizations to teach other students. Most of the students I have taught were university students who struggled with the Engineering Mathematics modules, Structural Mechanics etc. I have taught A level/BTEC/KS3/KS4 students too!
3+ years experience tutoring biology, chemistry, medical + dental school applications
My name’s Hibah, and I’m a 3rd year dental student at Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry. I took A level Biology, Chemistry and Philosophy & Ethics. I’ve had 4 years of tutoring experience in GCSE and A level chemistry and biology, as well as GCSE English and Maths. I also tutored students on applications to medical and dental school, interview practice and UKCAT help! Id describe myself as very friendly, bubbly and easy to get along with. I make my students feel at ease and comfortable in lessons and ensure that everything is interactive! I love getting students to engage in the lessons and finding fun ways to teach. My teaching is also very exam focused, with the high grades I achieved myself I fully understand exam technique and revision methods that work- I’d love to share these with students!
