A cell is the building block which makes tissues, which then make organs. Cells are made up of different sub cellular structures and can be specialised (for example, a red blood cell or a root hair cell). Cells that work together for a function form a tissue, and a group of tissues working together form an organ. An organ is self contained and has a function in the body (or organism).
