Ethics is one of the main branches of philosophy. Ethics is concerned with ideas such as what is right or wrong behavior. There are 3 main branches of eithics: 1. Meta-ethics is to look more abstractly at ethics. Meta is a greek word to mean above or beyond so Meta-ethics means to look beyond eithics. We ask questions like 'Can we ever know what is right or wrong?' 2. Applied ethics is what someone should do at a specific time pr what someone should fo in a specific situation. Questions such as 'is abortion moral?' Or 'is euthanasia morally right?' are all in this section of ethics 3. Normative ethics is looked at the questions concerning how someone should act. Basically this branch of ethics is concerned with the rightness and wrongness of people's actions. I hope this helps give a basic overview.

From a philosopher’s point of view, ethics is the field of knowledge that deals with moral principles. The tasks for moral philosophy are commonly thought to be four-fold: (i) Prescribing moral oughts, (ii) Describing what morality is, (iii) Vindicating morality and explaining why one should be moral, and (iv) Critique - proposing areas for change in contemporary social practice. In business, this usually manifests itself as a code of conduct which applies ethical and moral principles to situations that may arise in the context of doing business.
