The systems life cycle (SDLC) is a method for developing software. There are different diagrams with phases in them, but they usually go: investigation, analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, maintenance (evaluation) This can follow either the waterfall method where each phase is addressed in turn, RAD where phases are completed with smaller objectives to build modules, or Agile which is the newest and most adaptable to change.
