What is the difference between java and javascript?

The key differences are as follows: 1. JavaScript is developed by Netscape, Inc. This language is NOT a part of Java platform. 2. Application made in Java usually run on virtual machine or a web browser. JavaScript strictly runs on Web Browser. 3. To run a Java code, we need to compile it. JavaScript code is written text file and run directly in web page. 4. JavaScript is an OOP SCRIPTING language. Java is OOP PROGRAMMING language.
