How can I get a good grade in English language?
Qualified teacher and examiner of English GCSEs.
There are a few key skills to master that I would teach in detail if I were your tutor. 1. Know the timings of each question. 2. Understand how to write detailed and insightful PEE paragraphs. 3. Know language techniques and how to analyse them. 4. Know structural techniques and how to analyse them. 5. Develop your skills in narrative and descriptive writing. 6. Be able to infer information from your reading. 7. Be able to summarise what you have read. 8. Know persuasive techniques and how to analyse them. 9. Be able to write persuasively for or against an argument. 10. Be able to compare two texts. 11. Have accurate spelling, punctuation and grammar. That covers all the assessment objectives the exam board are looking for and the key 11 skills I teach when tutoring. I offer lessons online if Scoodle will allow that, if you’re struggling to find quality tutors in your area. Jordan.
