There are many parodies in literature. One great example is the mock-epic, “The Rape of the Lock” by the 18th Century poet Alexander Pope, where he satirises a minor incident concerning a lock of a woman’s hair being cut off without her permission and satirises it, turning it into a parody of an epic play, where the characters are compared to the Gods of epic literature.
