ENGLISH
Asked by Liam

What is the noun, verb, subject, and predicate in the following sentence? The little green car sped down the street?

A noun is a object so 'the car' is the noun in this sentence. A verb is a doing word so 'sped' is the verb here. Traditionally, the subject is the word or phrase that controls the verb in the sentence and, in this case, the subject is the car. The predicate is the clause or part of sentence that contains a verb or states something about the subject so, in this sentence, 'car sped down the street'.
