# How do you add fractions?

I want to help you achieve amazing GCSE results!

First you need to make the denominator the same (the number in the bottom of the fraction). Once they have the same denominator you can add them together. For example: 3/4 + 5/6 = 9/12 +10/12 = 19/12 To change the denominator you must multiply the top (numerator) by the same factor as the denominator. 3/4 β> 9/12 because you multiply 4 by 3 and 3 by 3. If you need anymore help with this let me know, we could probably do this in a short half hour or so tuition session.
