Psychology with Counselling Skills I love to teach Psychology and Counselling Skill. I use my psychology skills to help my students, using mindfulness and due care to positively encourage learning. At the same time a spoonful of fun can help engage the student making learning interesting for my students. I have good knowledge in the mentioned fields and will support my student through the thick and thin of their studies. I have a 2.1 degree, and am also able to relate to students who are dyslexic and can help in providing different approaches to learning. I am also competent in teaching Geography and English. I am dedicated to supporting the people I tutor as I am passionate about the subjects I teach. I understand the pressure of being a student and the pains of trying to reach deadlines. I also empathise when words are hard to put together when trying to get an essay done. From secondary school level to research to literature reviews to dissertation, my aim is to see the student through to graduation. If there is a problem with meeting in person, I can accept doing Skype lessons, which has proved a success with previous students. We found that as we talk about the subject, I can quickly tap in the information or research and immediately email links and literature to help the student. PGCE Trained Teacher/Private Tutor for Early Years, KS1 & KS2/7+ Exam Prep
I am a qualified EYFS and KS1 teacher. Having completed my PGCE in Primary Education in 2015, I have been able to teach in two different boroughs. In my first year, I taught in the borough of Richmond where I taught a Reception class. Here, I was able to use my skills to bring my class up to the national expectation at the end of the year. I am aware of the national curriculum expectations within this phase. EYFS differs from the KS1 and KS2 Curriculum as it focuses on 7 areas of learning. Here, it is important to gauge how best the child learns. Opportunities within the EYFS environment allow for the class to become independent learners, and I am able to create creative evironments in order for learning to occur. Here, skills in both English and Maths are embedded. The expection with English is that all students must be able to apply their phonics knowledge in order to form a legible sentence. Through the use of song, art, word games and handwriting practice, curriculum expectations will most certainly be met. This is similar with maths, where practical activities have allowed for critical thinking to take place. In my second year of teaching, I taught a Yr 1 class in Newham. Here, I was able to again bring my class up to the national expectation, with accelerated progress in certain subjects. The KS1 Curriculum picks up from the EYFS Curriculum as it expands on Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar within Years 1 and 2. These are all skills that I have practised with my previous class on a daily basis. Within Year 1 the expectation at the end of the year is to pass the Phonics Screening which all my class were able to do. With maths, the aim is to develop reasoning skills as well mental arithmetic. I tutor Early Year’s, KS1 and KS2. I also have high expectations and believe students need to be taught the skills to become resilient learners.

My name is Pernille and I have moved to England from Denmark for the next 6 months to further develop my teaching experience in English. I finished my A-levels in June 2018 and I will begin my teacher training in Denmark in the summer of 2020 and decided I would like to use this time to gain experience in a new types of settings. In August, last year, I was offered a job as a day-to-day supply teacher in Nordborg in Southern Denmark, where I taught classes from Year 1 to 11. I was then offered to extend my work on a 7 month teaching contract. During that time I taught Mathematics in Year 8 and Religion, History and Danish in Year 9. It is important to me that children feel comfortable and safe whilst learning. I always look to create a positive environment where children can grow and extend their skills and abilities. I like to use visual teaching methods, where children are encouraged to be closely involved and interactive with the lessons, in order to help them understand their subject, using a variety of teaching techniques.
Seasoned tutor and undergraduate at Royal Veterinary College
Having recently completed my A Level studies and going on to study Veterinary Medicine at University, I am eager to tutor secondary school level pupils. My teaching preferences are Geography and Biology, offered at both A Level and GCSE standard. I attained A* in both these subjects at GCSE and an A* in Geography and an A in Biology at A level. In both subjects I am most familiar with the AQA specification, however I am willing to offer tutoring to students studying under other exam boards. Achieving full marks in the coursework component of the Geography A Level, I am well equipped to offer assistance to students who may need help in this area. Having spent time as a Sixth Form tutor for pupils at my secondary school, I am willing to work with pupils of all abilities. My flexible and engaging teaching style centres on the needs of the student, with content provided following specification guidelines. As well as reviewing necessary subject content, a wide variety of exam-style questions, ranging from data response to factual recall, will be incorporated into sessions to adequately equip the pupil with the skills required to succeed in examinations. I am also willing to tutor GCSE French. Having achieved an A* in this subject at GCSE, I have since continued to practice the language so would be able to assist GCSE pupils with their French studies. Sessions will be composed of all four key components of language study, with exercises in reading, listening, writing and speaking covered. In this way the student is well-prepared to tackle all areas of the examinations. University preparation, particularly for Veterinary Medicine and Medicine, including Personal Statement assistance and Interview Practice can also be arranged upon request. Having undergone numerous interviews (and a large amount of interview practice) in order to gain a place on a Veterinary Medicine course, I am well-versed in the interview processes and will help strengthen interview skills to give any student the best chances at succeeding with their application. Working towards my doctorate in Biology
I have been a STEM tutor throughout my studies in London over the past seven years, and have taught Maths, Biology, and Chemistry at KS3 through to A-level. I have also run lab-based activities and science practicals for groups of school students, and mentored a number of undergraduate and postgraduate students during my lab research experience. I have always tried to make science as fun as possible and to give students the confidence to reach their full potential. I studied Biology at Imperial College, and later worked on an extremely exciting new tool in Biology called gene drive that may eventually be used to prevent many diseases such as malaria, Dengue, and Zika. I am now pursuing a PhD at the University of Oxford, where I will be working on a similar project to genetically engineer the mosquito that carries Dengue. Through this hands-on research, I have worked at the molecular and cellular level of biology, as well as the broader ecological level, where mathematical modelling is very important. I would love the opportunity to tutor a student that may be struggling with their Maths or science subject, or just wants to get ahead! I hope that you or they will love the subjects as much as I do, or at least give it a chance to see why it's so amazing, and so important for the future!
