Set the problem up as follows: Assume that: a newly born pair of rabbits, one male, one female, are put in a field; rabbits are able to breed at the age of one month so that at the end of its second month a female can produce another pair of rabbits; rabbits never die and a mating pair always produces one new pair (one male, one female) every month from the second month on. At the end of the first month, they mate, but there is still only 1 pair. At the end of the second month the female produces a new pair, so now there are 2 pairs of rabbits in the field. At the end of the third month, the original female produces a second pair, making 3 pairs in all in the field. At the end of the fourth month, the original female has produced yet another new pair, and the female born two months ago also produces her first pair, making 5 pairs. and so on

Can someone please explain to me how to do these questions ? The coordinates of the maximum point of the graph y = f(x) are (4,3). Give the coordinates of the maximum point of the graph with equation: a) y = f(x), b) y = f(x) - 4, c) y = f(x-2) + 1?

This is a functions transformation question. What you need to know to solve this is how the addition or subtraction of a number, either within or ou...

For what values of b is (x-b) a factor of 3x^3 +(b+3)x^2 -(4b^2 +b-7)x-4?

Let f(x) = 3x^3 + (b+3)x^2 - (4b^2+b-7)x-4 Then (x-b) is a factor of f(x) if and only if f(b)=0, because if (x-b) is a factor of f(x) then we can wr...

Write the equation of the line in the form Y=MX+C. (-2,3) and (-1,4)?

How do we solve this? We can just plug the co-ordinates into the equation: yΒ²-yΒΉ = m(xΒ²-xΒΉ) + c So substituting gives us: (4 - 3) = m (-1 - -2) + c ...
