The average number of alveoli in each human lung is 280 million. The average surface area of 1 million alveoli is 0.25m squares. What’s the total surface area of a human lung?

If 1 million alveoli have a surface area of 0.25m sq, then to work out the total surface area of 280 million you’ll have to multiply 0.25 by 280. No. of alveolI: SA of alveoli 1 million. : 0.25m sq 280 million. : 70m sq The scale factor on the left is 280, and so will it be for the right. Hope this helps.
