The advantages of measurements in education are:
- They assess the ability of a student
- They allow for standardised data for all students hence scope for comparison and statistics
- It creates a bank of information on each student which can then be used for feedback, reflection and defence against or for the student
- The data can then be targeted to teachers and tutors to improve their training and provide specific advice on how to best educate learners
