Hi Timothy, these are my thoughts on the question. At the beginning: Disad: they may not yet been on the zone and feel in the flow of the lessons so recall may be impaired Ad: students may be the most focused and this the most energetic to be tested Middle: Disad: the earlies take may have taken longer than expected so assessing students in the middle might be difficult to organise/ coordinate Ad: students may feel relaxed and comfortable in the environment Easiest to plan, can lay out tests at the beginning of the lesson which students can start when they arrive End: Disad: students may feel tired and demotivated after working for a longer time, they may not have any interest in taking a test, more tempted to cheat Ad: easy to gather in tests at the end of the lesson, if they have can go early if they finish the test, they might get it done more efficiently, so it's more realistic in time bound exam situations Apologies if I read the question wrong but I'm not too familiar with the word demerit. May I suggest the word drawback or disadvantage. Hope this is useful.
