PSYCHOLOGY
Asked by Phoebe

What kind of work experience can you get for psychology?

Well it depends on what field your looking to go into. Psychology branches off into many different sectors but work experience for psychology would mainly come from working in clinical based environments. But to be honest, universities will look for your ability to conduct a study and how well you can approach a problem. That’s my tip for you. Hope it helps!

Ruby Kiddi

I am passionate about teaching from AS to degree level.

Psychology with Counselling Skills I love to teach Psychology and Counselling Skill. I use my psychology skills to help my students, using mindfulness and due care to positively encourage learning. At the same time a spoonful of fun can help engage the student making learning interesting for my students. I have good knowledge in the mentioned fields and will support my student through the thick and thin of their studies. I have a 2.1 degree, and am also able to relate to students who are dyslexic and can help in providing different approaches to learning. I am also competent in teaching Geography and English. I am dedicated to supporting the people I tutor as I am passionate about the subjects I teach. I understand the pressure of being a student and the pains of trying to reach deadlines. I also empathise when words are hard to put together when trying to get an essay done.  From secondary school level to research to literature reviews to dissertation, my aim is to see the student through to graduation.  If there is a problem with meeting in person, I can accept doing Skype lessons, which has proved a success with previous students. We found that as we talk about the subject, I can quickly tap in the information or research and immediately email links and literature to help the student. Younger students like this way of learning because they are usually more engaged when at their computer. Best wishes  Ruby

Experienced tutor and who is ready to teach!

Personal profile I am a dedicated individual, who focuses towards ensuring other people are left satisfied, including consumers of a product, always putting in a large amount of effort for other individuals. This can be seen through my experiences of providing care and aid for troubled individuals. Competencies Communication Also, in my free time, I enjoy competitive gaming on the Playstation. I am part of 2 competitive Fifa leagues, and also a competitive Formula One league. Here, I interact with a range of individuals worldwide, including Netherlands and Mexico. During these competitive games, I am required to communicate with peers effectively, in order for them to understand me. I am able to adapt to the situation and change my speech, to cater for different peers. I am needed to select my method of speech carefully, due to some peers speaking English as a second language, as well as some speaking in a less formal manner due to their background. Teamwork I am fully aware of the importance of effective communication and I have demonstrated this in my role as goal keeper for my school football team. My role is dependant on ensuring good communication and listening between players to avoid conceding goals. Grit is also needed to be expressed through my role. As a goalkeeper you are required to always perform well, no matter the circumstance, because your team suffers greatly if you are not performing consistently. Because of this, grit and motivation is a must, as well as a form of resilience. Selflessness I have also volunteered at the cricket club I have been a part of, by helping with additional duties and supporting annual events promoting inclusion and diversity, such as a disability event held. Tasks such as ensuring their safety, ensuring equipment was set correctly and most importantly making sure that the individuals had a good time had to be completed. Staying positive I have been studying my holy book, the Quran, in hope to complete a full memorisation of this. I have been studying this since the beginning of year 11, at age 15. I have spent two hours a day, on average, on this process, including holidays from school and during my GCSE examinations, thus expressing my resillience. Currently, I have memorised just less than a third of the scripture. Leadership I am an enthusiastic team player with over five years of experience of playing for a competitive local cricket team. Being the only Wicket Keeper in the Under 15’s team in ; I played a crucial role in providing leadership support to the team by monitoring team progress, communicating key strategies on and off the pitch to improve team performance and raise team morale which contributed to multiple match wins.
