At Scoodle we understand that everyone learns in a different way. Some people learn through practice, using essays and notes; others prefer video lessons to watch and learn, some just need help with a specifically hard question, while some learn best 1-on-1 tutoring sessions. At Scoodle we cater for all types of learning styles and needs. From GCSE Maths video lessons to A-level English essays and specialist educators in every subject - we’ve got you covered.
Bsc Maths and Education | 4 years experience | willing to help anyone :)
I have completed my degree in mathematics and education and have been teaching maths and English for a couple of years. I am an aspiring Secondary school maths teacher and am just about to undergo my training in the educational field. I am very eager to make learning an enjoyable experience with good results. Please feel free to get in touch if you feel your child could do with some extra help to keep on top of their school work over the summer period and during the term time. I have been teaching students between the ages of 5-18 years for the past 3-4 years as a tutor. I have mentored in a couple of secondary schools in south London and in Hastings for 2 years whilst studying at university. This has enabled me to understand how different students approach mathematics and English and adapt my teaching methods to suit each individual. I understand that often students are not keen to engage in a classroom setting and find it more comfortable to learn with less people around them and I am willing to adhere to students' needs and wants. I have experience with working with students who struggle to focus in mainstream environments (especially with students who suffer from ADHD and Autism). My aims for teaching mathematics is to make it less intimidating for students and for teaching English, to make it less of a chore to write essays and more of a way to express ideas and emotion; thus achieving good results.
Maths can be accessible for everyone.
I’m currently a University of Edinburgh student, working towards a Mathematics (MMath) degree. I have previous tutoring experience ranging from assisting year 7 students with behavioural issues, acting as a teaching assistant in GCSE Maths lessons, tutoring GCSE Triple Science students & privately tutoring a student for Level 2 Further Maths. At GCSE I achieved 10 A*-As, and my A-Level grades are A*A*A*B (and an AS General Studies at an A). When tutoring, I first like to go through the content with students, answering problem questions and scenarios alongside this, ensuring they understand the content, they’re not just absorbing the content. If I’m confident a student understands all the content, I can then go through examination papers, teaching and coaching students on exam technique for their qualification/exam board, in order to afford the highest marks possible in the exam. I can currently tutor GCSE/ Nat4&5 English, Religious Studies, Mathematics and Science. I can also tutor A-Level/Highers/Advanced Highers (or equivalent) Law and Mathematics.
Passionate tutor who is ready to teach!
Currently studying at University College London. Strong believer of tailored tutoring - every student learns best differently, and it is my job to help them figure out how and adapt my teaching accordingly. I personally view being a tutor as being similar to a mentor, and hope to work with the student to develop skills that not only allow them to conquer specific academic subjects, but which can prove advantageous in many other areas. Ultimately, I strive to bring out the absolute best in my student.
I am passionate about teaching Quran, Arabic & Islamic Studies!
I’m an experienced Arabic Language teacher, passionate about learning and adding value to the educational experience. A real passion for Quran, Arabic and Islamic Studies with the students of today. I have taught students from KS1 through to tutoring at Post-16 level, including GCSE Arabic and Islamic Studies.
Experienced tutor and undergraduate at University of Birmingham
I am a Chemical Engineering Graduate from University of Birmingham. Chemical Engineering is a mathematically rigorous subject covering all of the pure mathematics modules of the A Level syllabus i.e. C1, C2, C3, C4, FP1, FP2, and FP3. I am happy to teach chemistry and maths from GCSE all the way through to the end of the A-Level syllabus. I currently work as a software Engineer at JP Morgan, Software engineering requires mathematical Excellence and hence I possess all the necessary skills to tutor mathematics along side physics, chemistry, biology. My teaching method is to assess the students strengths and weaknesses in the chosen subject area, whether it be mathematics or chemistry, and use practice questions to focus on these areas for teaching. When revising and preparing for A - level exams the best method to ensure the highest marks is to do as many practice questions as possible and to do them under timed conditions wherever possible. To that end, my lessons aim towards having an element of timed exam questions from the exam board that the student is learning as soon as is possible. I am also happy to assist with any homework questions the student may be struggling with.
