How can greenhouse gases harm us and how damaging is it?
Greenhouse gases are particularly harmful because they trap heat within the atmosphere, leading to higher overall temperatures, and can therefore, affect the climate. This leads to more extremes of temperature, including hotter, drier summers and colder winters. The temperature increase is melting ice stored at the Earth’s poles, which creates a change in sea level. Furthermore, a bigger hole in the ozone layer, created by harmful gases, can increase the amount of radiation hitting the surface of the Earth, affecting crops, wildlife, and even humans.
