How does the amount of biomass at the fourth trophic level compare to the amount of biomass at the third troph?
I want to help you achieve amazing GCSE results!
The biomass in trophic level 4 is less that the amount of biomass in trophic level 3 as biomass is lost between trophic levels (if you want more details on this send me a message). As a general approximate rule as you go up one trophic level there is 10% of the biomass retained. For example is in trophic level 3 there are 100kg of biomass, there will be 10kg if biomass in trophic level 4.
