Asked by Sarah

What happens with insecticides and herbicides that we put on our lawns?

If they are not sprayed properly, they can end up in water supplies and local bodies of water. This happens if we apply more than is needed in which case they can either leech or runoff. If it has been absorbed by the soil then it will move downwards following the water also absorbed by the soil. If it is on the surface then it also combines with water to become runoff, infecting bodies of water it mixes with.
