Undergraduate at Warwick Mathematics Institute

Iโ€™m a student about to start my second year on the University Of Warwick Mathematics degree, which Iโ€™m loving. I did my A Levels in Maths, Further Maths, Chemistry, and Physics. I have a very relaxed style, but I can certainly help a student progress in their mathematical competence. I can structure the online lesson according to what best suits the student. I can teach anything from secondary school level maths up to A Level Maths (including statistics and mechanics) in any exam board. I can also teach pure maths from A Level further maths. I also offer 11+ tuition in maths at the same rate.

Medical Doctor (MBBS), Biomedical Science (1st class honours), Pharmacy assistant (NPA qualification), previous tutoring experience (The Study Spot, Deen Tutors, private one-to one-tutoring), previous medical school interviewer, A levels (Maths, Biology, Chemistry), AS level (Electronics), GCSEs (11 total with mostly A* and Aโ€™s). Overall, my strong suits are in the STEM field, Maths, English and Science. I would be happy to help with medical school content (OSCE practice, medicine, surgery, specialties, prescribing exam), but I am also happy to take on suggestions and be flexible with what is taught. I am also happy to help those preparing to apply to medical school (interviews, personal statements, transfer programme at St Georges Medical School, applying as a graduate) or to the NHS foundation program (SJT). Really enjoy teaching! If I didnโ€™t take the medical route I probably would have become a teacher. Currently charging ยฃ25/ph for lessons, but wonโ€™t be like this for long!

Experienced tutor and undergraduate at University of Birmingham

I am a Chemical Engineering Graduate from University of Birmingham. Chemical Engineering is a mathematically rigorous subject covering all of the pure mathematics modules of the A Level syllabus i.e. C1, C2, C3, C4, FP1, FP2, and FP3. I am happy to teach chemistry and maths from GCSE all the way through to the end of the A-Level syllabus. I currently work as a software Engineer at JP Morgan, Software engineering requires mathematical Excellence and hence I possess all the necessary skills to tutor mathematics along side physics, chemistry, biology. My teaching method is to assess the students strengths and weaknesses in the chosen subject area, whether it be mathematics or chemistry, and use practice questions to focus on these areas for teaching. When revising and preparing for A - level exams the best method to ensure the highest marks is to do as many practice questions as possible and to do them under timed conditions wherever possible. To that end, my lessons aim towards having an element of timed exam questions from the exam board that the student is learning as soon as is possible. I am also happy to assist with any homework questions the student may be struggling with.

Award winning Maths & Computing Tutor | KS3, GCSE, A-Level

Hi, I'm Ross! I have been tutoring for over 5 years and Iโ€™m passionate about helping students reach their full potential, whilst also enjoying the learning experience. I offer Maths and Computing lessons between KS3 and A-Level and Iโ€™m currently focussing on online tuition. -----Experience----- โ€ขI have tutored more than 20 students for a total of over 400 hours โ€ขWorked with students aged 11-18 of a wide range of abilities โ€ขMasterโ€™s degree in Computing from Imperial College London โ€ขDBS certified -----Teaching Style----- โ€ขEvery student is different and so are my lessons. They are specifically tailored for each studentโ€™s requirements. โ€ขI offer a free consultation โ€œlessonโ€ to get an idea of a studentโ€™s ability, strengths and weaknesses in order to devise a custom lesson plan going forward โ€ขStudents are assigned homework each week to consolidate the lesson content. This is marked before the next lesson so we can go through feedback at the start of the next lesson. โ€ขI teach in a very interactive style which encourages student engagement. I find this is more effective in allowing the student to understand the content, rather than just memorising and regurgitating. โ€ขI try to relate the content being taught to interesting real-world examples to make the lessons more relevant and exciting. โ€ขI place a large emphasis on learning from past papers since this allows students to learn exactly what is required to maximise their marks in the exam.

Enthusiastic tutor by day and UCL medic by night!

Experienced Maths, Science and Medical Application tutor. I have always enjoyed teaching and have years of experience tutoring. I think studying should be fun! Having said that, I hated school growing up. I was always in the bottom set, and had little motivation to improve. But through some great teachers and online tutors in year 11, I turned things around. I went from low predicted grades to smashing my GCSEs, getting 3A* and an A (Maths, Bio, Chem and Spanish) at A-Level and 4 medical school offers!!! Now I want to help others enjoy learning, as I believe thatโ€™s the key to success. Whether you just want to pass, improve slightly or massively, I hope I can help!! Thanks, Ben

Hello! Iโ€™m a first year physics student at UCL. I am really passionate about helping students with getting into their first choice universities and so Iโ€™m offering tuition in Maths, Physics and Chemistry. I believe in teaching as a discussion between between peers, rather than me just talking at a student. I find that many difficulties are down to over complicated explanations or a few simple misconceptions, so when I teach I ensure I gain an accurate understanding of studentsโ€™ past teachings, concerns and questions. I love learning and helping others achieve their potential and learn too.

Iโ€™m currently in college studying French, Spanish and Maths A-Level in North London after achieving a Grade 9 (A*) in both Maths and English Language as well as a Grade 7 (A) in English Literature. I have in depth knowledge on the new style curriculum especially as I tutor Maths GCSE weekly. I am very personable and aim to create a fun but hardworking atmosphere that benefits and incorporates both the student and the parents. As well as tutoring, I can help with how to deal with exam stress and exam preparation as I view wellbeing to be as important as academic success. I also have experience helping people with learning difficulties and those who just generally struggle as well as those of higher abilities.

Enthusiastic tutor in chemistry and maths

I have graduated from high school in the UK and am currently studying Medicine at UCL. I am very interested in science subjects, and have taken them in A levels, receiving 3A*s. I would therefore like to share my ways of studying as well as exam techniques. I am a curious and enthusiastic individual who is particularly interested in Chemistry. I have been involved in Chemical Analytical Challenges and Symposiums. At school, I have also given biology presentations, including topics of epilepsy and effects of chocolate on the brain. I enjoy learning about the human system as it allows me to understand fully on how our body responds to different situations. I also had the experience of teaching Mathematics, alongside sciences. I have achieved A* within a year in A level maths, with UMS 581/600. I relish the logical thinking in Maths and have tutored several students, giving them advice on how to approach a question when prompted. From past experiences, I adopted a wide range of teaching styles, ranging from interactive whiteboards during online tutoring, to providing quizzes and exercises during face-to-face tutoring. I believe that this interaction will enhance visual learning and enable students to retain knowledge and be more interested in the subject. I am a native Chinese speaker and have taken Chinese GCSE and AS level. In my free time, I am an avid violinist and was the leader of Symphony Orchestra. I have taken music as one of my GCSEs before and I particularly enjoyed the classical pieces studied during the course. I hope to connect with more people and influence students with my passion for the subjects through teaching. Please contact me if interested. Thank you very much.

I am passionate about education and want to help!

I chose my GCSE options in year 8 and started them in year 9. It was then I felt like I had to decide what career I want to go in. I knew I enjoyed teaching as I've done a lot mentoring; I also knew that Religious Studies was one of my most favourite subjects. Really, I loved (still do) cooking the most so a career in catering was also something I wanted but then I decided that from my experience it's not the most stable career and I am an academic. My parents suggested I go into law so I focussed on that. I got 18 A* - Cs for GCSE. I got a scholarship into Oxford for a pre-degree law course which I did along side my A-levels. For AS I did German, Philosophy and Ethics, History and English language and literature. The latter 2 subjects I did not do enjoy as much so I dropped them in A2 and picked up a full A-level in IT. I got a reduced offer to do law at Oxford but I decided I didn't want to do that anymore nor be in that environment again. I chose to do philosophy and R.S. instead which allowed me to dabble with other topics such as psychology, sociology, and government and politics. I have worked at schools as pupil assistant, mentor and teacher. I am now a manager at a tuition centre. (And I've been tutoring for over 8 years now). Sorry for the essay!

Seasoned tutor studying Law at Warwick University. Online tutoring available!

Hello! My name is Alyssa Miller and I am a first year Law student at the University of Warwick. I am half Chinese and half English; consequently, I am fluent in both English and Chinese. I have had a lot of experience in tutoring, from being a classroom helper for an entire GCSE Mandarin class, to being a personal tutor in English Literature for a struggling year 11 boy, to teaching basic Mandarin to a class full of Burmese refugee children. All these experiences have helped enhance my communication coupled with my teaching skills, it has allowed me to realise what to prioritise when approaching a new student - their strengths and weaknesses, their level of confidence towards the subject and most importantly, what learning methods best suit them. I will employ these techniques in order to ensure your child receives the best possible tutoring, and their grades coupled with their passion for the subject improve as soon as possible!

Happy Humanities Tutor helping learners to achieve their potential

I enjoy helping others to achieve their potential and become successful independent learners. From 2005 until 2017 I worked in a variety of e-learning trainer roles in Further Education colleges. This involved supporting students from 14 through to 60+ in their research at A-level, Undergraduate and Masters level covering topics such as successfully using online journals, specialist databases and improving their study skills. The support took the form of one to ones, small groups and large group/class sessions. At one college, a high proportion of degree level students had varying degrees of Dyslexia - it was great to be a part of the college-wide team instilling increased confidence in learners. Now, I've retrained as a teacher. During my PGCE placements, I worked in ESOL, Adult Literacy, GCSE, GCSE resit and A-level classes. Since January 2020, I've been self-employed, supporting two clients with English as a second or other language. In my spare time, I proof read a Dyslexic friend's University essays, working through strategies to help him with spelling, phonics, punctuation and grammar. I've further proof read another friend's Masters and now PhD coursework. I very much enjoying helping others and seeing them achieve their full potential. In my spare, spare time I've been a volunteer for a year in CLEAR Project ESOL classes as a Learning Support Assistant (LSA) and been a weekly volunteer in English Conversation groups at the University of Southampton, (since 2015) and Burgess Road Library (since 2017). At this difficult time, although my experience is with 14+ learners, I'm happy to help primary learners too. I enjoy History as a hobby as well as studying it and look forward in going back into teaching it.

A supportive and engaging tutor with an aim for success

Hi! My name is Sohini, a friendly and helpful tutor currently studying Maths at the LSE because of how much I love the subject and teaching it, so I would say that I major in Maths. Nevertheless, I have always enjoyed learning and teaching languages to others, in particular Spanish, French and Bengali. To quickly describe myself, I am 21-years old and have worked as a tutor for approximately 5 years now. From my experiences, I have picked up new and creative ways to make education as enjoyable and enlightening as possible. For a short time, I did also work as a fundraiser for multiple charities which enhanced my optimism and made me more confident with my abilities. In short, I don't give up. I consistently try to improve the development of my students so that they are satisfied with their quality of education and level of confidence. I have experience working at homes, schools and tutoring centres, and I have mostly worked with those aged between 5 and 17, both while employed and while volunteering. However, I have never limited myself to a particular age when it comes to taking students - learning is for all ages! Finally, I am flexible, both in time and lesson rate, and quick to respond to messages for lessons so feel free to message me, even if you don't see the time slot you want. Last updated: 24/07/18

I am currently a private tutor for a number of students. My handle on big Instagram and Facebook is โ€˜Study With Saffโ€™ if you are interested ๐Ÿ˜Š I am an A level student who would like to start tutoring younger years to help them excel in their studies. In my GCSEโ€™s I scored an 8, two 7โ€™s, three 6โ€™s and three 5โ€™s and in my first set of AS mocks I received an ABCC. My predicted grades for my final year before university are an A*ABB and I wish to study Law.
