Assessment is seen as the initial process before you begin teaching a lesson; for example you would assess the level at which students are learning at. Assessment also takes place after lessons where you assess how the lesson went and perhaps factors of the lesson that you need to change. Also, you use assessment to inform future lessons, where the results of a test for example could highlight where the gaps in learning are and what needs to be revisited.

Teaching is the action of delivering a lesson that is informed by planning, feedback and assessment of learning.

Learning is also informed by assessment where you can identity gaps in knowledge and the level of which students have understood the content.
