How do you divide fractions?
You can use the KFC method to remember how to divide fractions. For example 1/4 divide by 2/3. K is for keep, so you keep the 1st fraction the same. So 1/4 stays 1/4. F is for Flip - you flip the 2nd fraction upside down. So 2/3 becomes 3/2. C is for Change - you change the divide sign to a multiply sign so now the sum becomes: 1/4 x 3/2 Then you multiply the fractions as normal (multiply the 2 n... more

The price of Kate’s monthly mortgage payments increased by 4%. Her payments are increased by £12.75. Work out Kate’s monthly mortagage payments before the increase?
£12.75 is 4% So 1% would be 12.75/4 = 3.1875 Then 100% (which would be the original monthly mortgage payment) would be 3.1875 * 100 = £318.75
