Career Advice

I want to join the RAF intelligence when I'm older. I'm wondering if it would be more beneficial for me to go to university or if I should take on an apprenticeship in the RAF Intelligence instead?

Some of my previous students have applied directly after A Levels. It depends on what level you want to go in at. What are you studying at present?

I’m currently in year 10 and i’m looking for some media, psychology, modelling or law related work experience. Do you have any idea on what I should do or any places to contact?

You should have a careers service within your school who will have a list of companies that they have looked at for work experience. If you are looking for longer term work experience, try there's a really good guide on groundwork.org.uk

The systems life cycle (SDLC) is a method for developing software. What grades do I need at GCSE to get into a top university?

It depends on what you want to study. Many universities will be looking for Maths & English at level 5+, although if you are looking to study a STEM subject this may be 7+ Offers at University will be made based on your year 12 mock exams / progress (or AS exams if you sit them), but your target A Level grade will be calculated on your average GCSE grade.

What good jobs can I get without going university?

Lots of careers have paths outside of University. Higher Apprenticeships are very popular in big companies with some paying for you to study part time for a degree. For instance, in IT you could start as a junior programmer and through Microsoft qualifications study for a highly rated professional qualification. Both pathways take time & a lot of hard work!
