Hi,I really struggling with trigonometric equations and this is one of the questions I’m stuck on, thank you for any help. Solve sin(2x-60°)=0.5 for 0°≤x≤360°?

Applying arcsin to both sides: 2x - 60 = arcsin(0.5) Rearranging for x: x = 0.5(arcsin(0.5) + 60) arcsin(0.5) = 30 degrees All solutions of x: 45, 225 (= 45 + 180) You can also do this by drawing a y = sin(x) graph, the 2x will mean the graph ‘travels 2 times faster’ i.e will cross 1 at 45 degrees rather than 90. The (- 60) will mean its lagging 60 degrees behind so translate the graph 60... more

It takes 90 seconds to fill a cars petrol tank The petrol tank has a capacity of 45 L The pump has to lift the petrol 4m from the storage tank underneath the forecourt. 1 L of petrol weighs 6.8N How much work does the pump do in pumping the petrol?

In order to fill the tank completely the pump would’ve had to lift 45 L of petrol by 4m. We can calculate this using the gravitational potential energy formula: E = mgh where m is the mass, g is acceleration due to gravity and h is the height difference. Since the question told us that 1 litre of petrol weighs 6.8N, the total weight of the petrol is 45 * 6.8 = 306N note that weight = mg so we no... more

Meghan does 40 step-ups in 1 minute in at the gym. The height of the step is 0.3m and Meghan weighs 650N. Calculate the work done by Meghan. Calculate Meghan’s power?

Using the gravitational potential energy formula E = mgh we can calculate that 1 step will take 0.3 * 650 = 195 Joules, where 650 = mg as weight is just mass multiplied by the acceleration due to gravity. So 40 steps is just 40 * 195 = 7800J Power is the rate of energy, so we have 7800/60 = 130 Watts as there are 60 seconds in a minute.

Why does stellar parallax occur?

Parallax is just the difference you see in images when you take them from different positions. It also occurs for example when you’re trying to measure the volume of a liquid in a cylinder, the level will appear to be at different positions depending on the angle you look at it, with no parallax occurring directly perpendicular to the level.

Is warm air high or low pressure?

Pressure is a combination of different factors as it is based on the force exerted on the container it’s in. Warm air has more energy so exerts more force against the edge of the container, therefore is of a higher pressure than colder air.

What in God’s name is a bisector? I have a new teacher that is so bad and her accent is so thick you can’t understand her 😫😭?

A bisector simply cuts a line in two through the midpoint. There’s plenty of geometric solutions to create one.
