Enthusiastic Mathematics Tutor
Hello I’m Salim, I am currently in my first year studying Mathematics with Finance and Investment Banking at the University of Reading. Through studying for my degree, I have gained a huge interest and passion for mathematics which I want to pass onto other students. I am currently a part-time tutor at a tuition centre in Reading with over 60 hours of teaching time. This experience has been crucial in allowing me to be the best at delivering great lessons and seriously benefiting my students. My aim is to deliver the learning in an efficient manner ensuring the student understands the basic underlying mathematics behind the question rather than just focusing on how to answer the question at hand. This develops the student into a more analytical and independent learner. Also, I am DBS checked which will give you the peace and mind you want when I'm teaching your child. Want to be on top of your class? Be better, Learn better.
Welcome! I am an A level student currently studying Economics, Business and Government & Politics A level qualifications and predicted three As. I passed all of my GCSE achieving As and A*s across English maths science and my other subjects. Although I achieved well in my subjects I believe education is more than examinations. To learn is to better yourself, however due to the crucial part of life learning holds I believe studying should be a passion, something we strive at and most importantly enjoy. As a student getting high exam results wasn’t second nature to me, but after year 9 I decided to put my head down and enjoy what I was studying. This allowed me to do well and prosper in my education and as a result this showed in my results. I am dedicated to providing all my students the best educational experience possible and this is not just teaching them something, but teaching the reasoning behind it so they can remember it, understand and implement it in their answers. My experience in teaching students sitting the 11+ exam has allowed me to understand what is required of the exam and I would love to help your child succeed in their educational exams and also create the motivation for them to do well and achieve high. I am offering tuition during weekdays for anyone studying at primary school, sitting any admission exams (11+) and secondary school years 7-8.View Profile

I have some experience of teaching Maths GCSE, I am just starting off on this platform so will keep prices low. I am fully competent in Maths, with A* at GCSE in both Maths and Statistics and an A in Further Maths, alongside an A level in it. I would be open to teaching both Geography and Biology also, due to my chosen degree I have good knowledge of these areas and would enable a student to progress well. Furthermore, I passed the 11+ to attend Grammar school so I have the required knowledge to help guide your child through this should it be required. I am also knowledgable about the application process for University, having achieve 5 offers for Russel Group universities and then securing a Masters place, I would be happy to support with this also. My teaching style is very flexible, at the beginning we can discuss your needs and formulate a plan based on timescales, ability and specific areas needing improvement. Tutor with a range of experience.
I have tutored for approximately 5 years and in that time have covered a range of subjects. I have helped children completing their SATs, Maths GCSEs and some A-Level Maths. I have also tutored for 11+ entrance exams, so I have a very varied experience with tutoring. I have tutored children who have identified additional learning needs, for example, dyslexia, autism and anxiety. I am a firm believer in working at the child’s pace, so if a child is struggling to understand a piece of work, I would much prefer to spend time to get a sound understanding of that topic before rushing to move on, than it just coming up the following year.View Profile
