Experienced History and English tutor with an established track record.
I have been tutoring History and English students for over nine years now, as well as teaching undergraduates and master’s students at the University of Oxford. I’m currently finishing my PhD in History at the university of Oxford, and I love teaching the subject. I have also worked as a marker for entrance exams at the University of Oxford’s History Faculty, and I have considerable experience teaching a wide range of topics with all exam boards, and facilitating excellent results in homework, coursework, and examinations.
Expert English tutor!
I have just graduated with a Distinction in a Master of Studies (MSt) in English 1550-1770 at the University of Oxford, having graduated with First Class Honours with a BA in English Language and Literature in July 2017. I have been tutoring for 4 years now and during that time have truly come to appreciate how personalised approaches to learning facitilated by the one-to-one tutoring format can truly help students to reach their potential. All of my students have seen a huge improvement in their grades, but more importantly in their confidence. Language and literature study are not subjects which come naturally to everyone and I hope to make it not only accessible but also highly enjoyable. Nothing pleases me more than hearing from former students who have gone on to study Medicine or Law that tell me that they are still reading! I have a strong academic record, not dropping a single mark in my English studies from GCSE to A Level and earning a scholarship in my first year at the University of Oxford. I was one of the top applicants for my Masters course and was recommended by the English faculty for a Humanities Division scholarship. A love of learning and lateral exploration is at the center of everything that I do and in all my educational experiences as a student and a tutor, I have found that individual thinking is the core to success. In my work as a tutor, an educational volunteer, an academic mentor and as a tutor manager for an online education company I have a nuanced understanding of the ways in which we can harness online technology to further education and child development. I have hundreds of hours experience tutoring English Literature and English Language for all levels up to A-level, IB and undergraduate level in addition to teaching English as a foreign language. I am also able to provide academic mentoring, school entrance tutoring and university admissions guidance.
Enthusiastic Mathematics Tutor
Hello I’m Salim, I am currently in my first year studying Mathematics with Finance and Investment Banking at the University of Reading. Through studying for my degree, I have gained a huge interest and passion for mathematics which I want to pass onto other students. I am currently a part-time tutor at a tuition centre in Reading with over 60 hours of teaching time. This experience has been crucial in allowing me to be the best at delivering great lessons and seriously benefiting my students. My aim is to deliver the learning in an efficient manner ensuring the student understands the basic underlying mathematics behind the question rather than just focusing on how to answer the question at hand. This develops the student into a more analytical and independent learner. Also, I am DBS checked which will give you the peace and mind you want when I'm teaching your child. Clear, concise mathematics
I’ve spent the past few years studying in Oxford. It’s been a whirlwind. I’d like to share all I’ve learned - the maths and the other stuff. I can help you with GCSEs, A levels, key stage 3 mathematics - anything. I can help you stretch beyond the syllabus, or get to grips with the foundations. My goal is to make lessons fun, simply by being a friendly, helpful person.
