First-class Oxford PPE graduate and an experienced tutor.
I graduated from Oxford University in summer 2019 with a first class degree in PPE. I am now studying for an MSc in International Relations at the LSE. My approach to tutoring involves retaining a keen focus on the goal at hand - be it an upcoming exam, test, or interview, or perhaps gaining clarity in a particular subject area. Generally the tutorials will consist of running through topics, followed by a number of exercises to test application of knowledge. I would normally set a homework, possibly in the form of a mock exam / test, which we would then go over together at the following tutorial. This is the best way to consolidate knowledge, track progress, and instil the fundamentals of exam technique - a crucial skill regardless of what level the student is at. At university, I studied politics, philosophy, and economics. As such, I am exceptionally well-placed to tutor these subjects and to prepare applicants for related degrees. Having excelled in essay-based subjects and being a keen writer, I feel ideally equipped to help develop students' writing techniques. I've helped a number of Oxbridge applicants with the process, including reviewing personal statements, revising for admissions tests (HAT and TSA), and preparing for interview. I’ve also tutored IGCSE History and Pre-U Philosophy. Having only recently been through the process myself, I feel strongly motivated to aid the next cohort. I was Head Boy at The Perse School in Cambridge, where as part of community outreach I taught Latin to classes of 13 year olds. I've also had experience teaching religious studies to a class of 10 year olds.View Profile
