Enthusiastic and friendly tutor in Biology, Chemistry, Maths, Chinese, and 11+ / ISEB exams.
Hi there! My name is Theo and I am a Year 13 student studying Biology, Chemistry, Maths, and Chinese (4 A*s, 11 GCSE Grade 9s), looking to pursue medicine at university. I am particularly fascinated by human biology and biochemistry, but enjoy learning about other subjects that interest me, such as politics and Chinese history and culture. I thoroughly enjoy teaching, and would love to take the opportunity to share my academic knowledge and other insights as a mentor. For the last year I have worked for two hours a week as a voluntary tutor, where I have developed the skills and understanding required to be a successful tutor. I also find it incredibly exciting and rewarding to see students develop and get to grips with new topics, as well as be enthusiastic about topics I'm also keen on! I enjoy a student-led approach to tutoring, where the goals and targets of the student are our primary focus, such as an upcoming exam. What I quite like to do is, if there is a particular topic that the student would like to focus on, then we can go through the theory of it together, but if not, it can be really beneficial to go through past paper questions together and then pause and reflect on any topics that are particularly challenging.
Barts Medic | GCSE Maths & A-Level Science | 5+years exp | 40+ students | 2500+ hours
I am a Medic at Barts and the London School of Medicine. I completed my A-levels with A*AAA and my GCSEs with 4A*s and 5As. I have been tutoring 5+ years now and have been fortunate enough to work with 40+ students between the ages 7-18. My specialties are in Maths & Science - I have taught these subjects up to GCSE and A-Levels respectively across a variety of boards, as well as 11+ preparation, gathering a wealth of experience. To further my experience in teaching, I worked as a Teaching Assistant in a local school, allowing me to develop my teaching skills and learn innovative ways of making tuition an engaging activity and not a tiresome chore. Feel free to message me for more information.
Enthusiasm in addition to extensive knowledge is key to my teaching success.

7+, 11+, 13+, English & Maths tutor—friendly, experienced, central London-based
I am an approachable and dedicated tutor with experience teaching students at primary and secondary school level. I am passionate about instilling in my students the curiosity and motivation necessary to succeed academically, and believe tutoring is more effective when tailoring one’s approach to each individual. Every student has the capacity for success and, due to my own personal experiences on the other side of the table, I deeply believe in encouragement combined with an appropriate amount of discipline to engender the desire and drive for achievement.
Enthusiastic and friendly math tutor
I've loved maths since forever because I think it's always a new thing and a new problem ready to be solved and that's why I'm here. I study computer- science and I really like everything that involves numbers. I participated every year in the national Olympic Math competitions and many other contests. I don't have a lot of teaching experience but I can promise you I'll do my best to help your child achieve his goals, pass exams, and never get behind with the curriculum from the class and most important help him seeing math like something really easy to do. I think you can build a skyscraper if you have a good foundation and someone to teach you how to find the smartest and easiest method to complicated problems. I think I said enough about math and I hope you don't think I'm a geek. :) I'm also an archery instructor at a club in central London, animal lover and motorcycle enthusiast and dedicated singer. If you have any questions don't hesitate to contact me! Thank you!
Aerospace engineering student with 4 years exp tutoring Maths and All Sciences!
I am currently in my second year of study at Queen Mary University in London. I have been tutoring for just over 3 and a half years and have helped students achieve success in their respected courses. I take pride in my student's work which motivates me to work even harder to ensure that my students are 100% prepared to take their exams. I mainly teach physics and maths because these are subjects that I am passionate about and ones that I use every single day in my chosen degree. I believe my understanding in the topic has grown significantly over the past few years, especially in university where I have had to come up with creative ways to tackle problems which have helped me understand the core concepts of the subjects even better. In addition, I also really enjoy watching and taking part in various sporting activities. My favourite being football and my favourite team is Liverpool (I assure you I will still help you with your studies if you support another team!). aside from that, I have an interest in aircraft, motor vehicles and motorsport. To conclude I am here to help you succeed and will do my best to ensure that you are ready to achieve your full potential in your examinations.
Enthusiastic tutor in chemistry and maths
I have graduated from high school in the UK and am currently studying Medicine at UCL. I am very interested in science subjects, and have taken them in A levels, receiving 3A*s. I would therefore like to share my ways of studying as well as exam techniques. I am a curious and enthusiastic individual who is particularly interested in Chemistry. I have been involved in Chemical Analytical Challenges and Symposiums. At school, I have also given biology presentations, including topics of epilepsy and effects of chocolate on the brain. I enjoy learning about the human system as it allows me to understand fully on how our body responds to different situations. I also had the experience of teaching Mathematics, alongside sciences. I have achieved A* within a year in A level maths, with UMS 581/600. I relish the logical thinking in Maths and have tutored several students, giving them advice on how to approach a question when prompted. From past experiences, I adopted a wide range of teaching styles, ranging from interactive whiteboards during online tutoring, to providing quizzes and exercises during face-to-face tutoring. I believe that this interaction will enhance visual learning and enable students to retain knowledge and be more interested in the subject. I am a native Chinese speaker and have taken Chinese GCSE and AS level. In my free time, I am an avid violinist and was the leader of Symphony Orchestra. I have taken music as one of my GCSEs before and I particularly enjoyed the classical pieces studied during the course. I hope to connect with more people and influence students with my passion for the subjects through teaching. Please contact me if interested. Thank you very much.
I love learning and helping others achieve their potential and learn too.
I’m currently studying at Warwick University for French and Linguistics after achieving a Grade 9 (A*) in both Maths and English Language as well as a Grade 7 (A) in English Literature. I have in depth knowledge on the new style curriculum especially as I tutor Maths GCSE weekly. I am very personable and aim to create a fun but hardworking atmosphere that benefits and incorporates both the student and the parents. As well as tutoring, I can help with how to deal with exam stress and exam preparation as I view wellbeing to be as important as academic success. I also have experience helping people with learning difficulties and those who just generally struggle as well as those of higher abilities.
Skilled tutor and undergraduate at UCL
Hello, my name is Lavan and I am currently an undergraduate studying for a Masters (MSci) in Chemistry at University College London (UCL). I have over three years of teaching experience, where I have taught both classes (of sizes up to 12 students) and individual lessons. The students that I have taught primarily have been between the ages of 14 – 19 i.e. GCSE – A Level, however I have had a few students who needed help with exams for their degrees in Chemistry and Medicine in addition to entrance exams for schools. My methods of teaching vary from student to student as I cater towards their individual styles of learning. That being said, the one thing I do emphasise to all my students is that understanding the topics is much more important than just to solely memorise something. This is achieved by starting from the very basics and building from there, whilst simultaneously giving them structured methods which make it easy to remember crucial things from each topic. A typical lesson would be as follows: ● We start by going through any doubts from the homework that was set from the previous lesson. ● This is followed by teaching the next topic (new content) – emphasising key points that are highlighted on the specification. ● Next, we work through questions from various textbooks. To begin with, there would be guidance for each question and by the end of the lesson my students will attempt the question with minimal help from me. ● Finally, we go through any remaining doubts that have arisen throughout the lesson or any problems that need to be clarified from their school or university. Closer towards the exams my efforts would be focused towards two crucial skills. The first being exam technique and the second being timing. The approach I take for this is by going through multiple past papers and mock tests. This helps me to understand where my students need to improve and thus where to focus my attention for the upcoming lessons. In addition to this, I give my students tips and tricks that I have developed over my time as a student. I love teaching and especially teaching the sciences, so let me help your child truly excel in their subjects.
Passionate and experienced tutor of maths, English, chemistry & economics
I am in my final year of sixth form, undertaking the IB Diploma. Will be available to tutor after my exams are over, from the end of May. I really enjoy tutoring and have done so in the past. I am willing to put all my energy into helping others achieve their utmost best because having recently only done my GCSE’s and now doing the IB, I know how difficult and stressful it can be. I am able to adapt in several different ways in order to help my student in a way which suits them. I have previously offered tuition to other students who have achieved great success. I have helped both Eleven-Plus students who have gotten admissions into grammar schools and have also helped GCSE students flourish in their grades. I have also previously been a classroom assistant at Kumon, an international tutoring company, where I have supported several students at the same time, but in different ways, in order to help them flourish. I have recently sat my GCSE’s in 2017 and have achieved 4 A*’s (including a 9 in English Literature and a 9 in Mathematics), 8 A’s and 1B. I still have all my notes from GCSE which will allow me to provide a lot of extra support to my students by providing them with exemplar work and by providing them with extra tips for their exams.
