Mathematics PhD student, with relevant industry and teaching experience.
Industry experience: Before starting my PhD, I was a Mathematician at GLI UK, a gambling regulator, where I would use mathematics to build models to verify game returns and run statistical analyses on those games. Teaching experience: Whilst at Keele University, I was a member of the Stoke-on-Trent Mathematics Excellence partnership. As a member, I taught mathematics at Trentham High School as a SCITT intern, recieved professional teacher training, ran intervention classes for students at Birches Head Academy. I also co-founded Keele University's FunMaths Roadshow, wherein myself and a team of fellow undergraduates vistited schools across Stoke, to provide a competitive problem solving activity session, with the goal of improving problem solving skills in schools.

Experienced tutor and undergraduate at Central Saint Martins, University Arts London
Personal Description: My name is Fleur and I am currently a practicing artist, working in painting and ceramics. I recently graduated my Fine Art BA from City & Guilds of London Art School where I gained first class honours. Previously, I completed my foundation diploma at Central Saint Martins (UAL) and received a scholarship to a semester foundation course at Paris College of Art. Tutoring Approach: Firstly, I think it is important that I know what the tutee is looking to achieve; whether this be better visual understanding, critical feedback, technique, or achieving an A* in their Art a-level/GCSE. Once this is determined, I will use my experience to help them achieve this. If the primary goal is to gain a high grade in Art A-level or GSCE, I would ask for a copy of the marking criteria and work with the tutee to ensure they are demonstrating strength in each area in order to achieve the highest possible result. I achieved 100% in my art a-level and Art GSCE so I have experience in working to these marking schemes, and jumping through hoops whilst enjoying creating artwork.

Academic coaching and tutoring for namely those that get distracted.
I’m particularly keen in helping students with attentional difficulties, task management issues, restlessness, and other related issues. I want to hammer the notion home, especially to young people, that learning is the most pleasurable thing in the world so long as you properly negotiate your approach to it with your difficulties. I have attention deficit disorder (ADD) myself, and after feeling shattered by not meeting the standards I knew I could achieve (for example, a characteristic ADD symptom is hyper-focus on what you’re interested in: I got 98% in English Literature - something I love - at A-level, but two B’s in philosophy and politics), I sought to do something about it and developed an approach which has worked really nicely (for example, now being able to read three books a week). I am currently doing a BA in Arabic at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), and attended King Alfred School in Hampstead where I achieved 6A*s and 3As at GCSE level and A*BB at A level.

Professional, experienced tutor, specialising in 11-Plus, Primary, KS3 English
I've worked as a tutor for three years. I've ample experience in various other areas of education and the arts. I've worked in schools at primary, secondary and A-Level and spent time teaching and mentoring in South America. I've also worked as a writer, director and actor. I find my experience in these fields benefits my work as a tutor greatly. I tailor my lessons according to the tutee's grasp of English as a subject and language, with the focus on keeping things fun, engaging and demanding. From experience I find the best way is to first highlight what the student feels less comfortable with to then explore different ways we can improve their knowledge and technique, helping them to express themselves at school and in exams. I plan my lessons accordingly, including mock exams, marking, consultation with the parent and regular homework and reading if required. My students soon grow in confidence and develop an enthusiasm for reading and writing, something which benefits their other studies. I endeavor to inspire my pupils to realise their potential, removing any blockages and approaching each lesson with a calm confidence in a positive, focused environment, free of stress and fear. "Ever tried. Ever failed. No matter. Try again. Fail again. Fail better." Samuel Beckett

Passionate and fun Maths, English, 11+ & Drama tutor.
I work at University of Kent and I have over a decade of experience teaching students. I offer Maths, English, Entrance Exam and Drama tuition to students in their home, my home and online. My love of tutoring began when I started teaching Drama and Dance at the age of 17 whilst I attended The BRIT School. I went on to complete my PGCE teacher training qualification in English and Drama in 2015 where I gained substantial experience working with adult learners. I previously worked as a manager and tutor trainer at a well known tuition centre, teaching Maths, English and 11+ entrance exam preparation to students aged 4-16. I believe it's important to take time to understand the goals and expectations of students and parents at the beginning of the learning journey. I aim to be an approachable and fun tutor. I assess a student's learning style so I can tailor our lessons in the most appropriate way. Over the past year I have had great results, in particular helping students increase confidence and attainment in Maths and English at Primary, Secondary and GCSE levels.
