Hard-working tutor and undergraduate at Imperial College London
My name is Kat, I am a full-time tutor. I completed my BSc Biochemistry at Imperial College London and MSc at the London School of Economics. I have a wide range of hobbies which include music and art. My indulgence in my hobbies, however, did not prevent me from distinguishing myself academically (I took 5 subjects at A-level and 11 subjects at GCSE, and achieved all A*/A). I want my students to understand and learn in an efficient albeit enjoyable way. Biology, Chemistry, Maths I enjoy teaching and have been a tutor for 7 years. I teach Biology, Chemistry and Maths. I care about students, and I wish that they could learn to love Science and Maths as I do. To achieve the high goals I set for my students, I require the cooperation of the student and a change in attitude. I believe that everyone is capable of getting an A*/9 in any subject, as long as they are dedicated to achieving that goal. Every student is different, as such, I tailor my teaching methods to each individual student. I put emphasis on encouraging students, cultivating their natural interest and understanding of the subjects they chose to take. I have found this approach to be more effective in building confidence in students, motivating them, and in realizing their full potential - all of which are key to exam success.View Profile

I love science, all aspects, and enjoy teaching it to individuals!
I absolutely love teaching chemistry, biology and maths at AS, A2 and GCSE level to students keen to aim for top grades. I took Biology, Maths and Chemistry at A-Level and achieved A*A*A*. I am a very smiley person with fantastic organisation skills. I have got a 2.1. in my Masters of Biochemistry from Oxford. My master's project was in neurology, specifically focusing on how sexual behaviour is encoded in the genome. From doing a lab placement researching diabetes in Canada to working full-time at pubs and Merlin attractions, I have skills sourced from many areas. I have also worked as an Assistant Course Director on Oxford Summer Courses, so have past experience working with students aged between 13 to 15. This is key for producing the best mentoring skills I have to give. Currently, I am set to start my job as a business analyst at Stagecoach. Pop me a message and I'll respond within the same day.View Profile
A skillful teacher builds a strong connection with the student through communicating and learning from one another. Constant feedback during the lesson informs my practice to enhance the learning experience. Having taught in a range of schools in the United Kingdom and internationally I have developed my practice through teaching students from a range of different backgrounds, ages, and levels. I see teaching as a trust that reflects as much on the quality of a teacher as it does on the learning of the student.View Profile
