Seasoned tutor and undergraduate at University of Cambridge
I am using tutoring to fund my PhD studies. I have always been grateful to my parents for finding tutors to help me to gain confidence and to achieve more highly in the areas of my schooling I found toughest. Without this support I would not have been able to get into my target secondary school, dream university, and then subsequently be able to pursue a full scholarship to the best university in Asia, work for global development finance institutions and embark on a doctoral degree programme. Thus, I hope to be able to do the same for my young colleagues. As an aspiring academic, I hope not only to be a good educator, but also an ambassador for my subjects, highlighting not only how to get good grades, but how this study can impact our thinking of the world. I would describe myself as optimistic, funny and patient, and I think applying these qualities to a reimagination of the classroom curriculum will enable my students to go on to achieve highly. I have a proven track record of delivering results to my students, both in exams, and in pursuing their chosen university careers. My biggest passion in life is travelling and I hope to visit every country in the world during my lifetime - I am currently at 44 and hope to add 4 more to the tally this year. I love cooking. I am a board games enthusiast and unbeatable at Scrabble and Settlers of Catan. I love logic puzzles and reading. I love to write, to quite some acclaim, and am currently writing a cooking book and a comedic look at expat life in China. While living in China I was a Research Assistant for the Asian Development Bank - Peking University Partnership, where I conducted policy-directed academic research. I also have a lot of corporate work experience in the financial sector. In 2018, I completed a Summer Strategy Consulting Internship at EY-Parthenon, London, working in both English and German. The year before I was an Economic and Financial Consulting (EFC) Summer Interns at FTI Consulting, London. In 2016 I was a Summer Intern at Corbett Keeling Corporate Finance, London and before that, I completed a spring week at Deutsche Bank. I have over 1,000 hours of tutoring experience, ranging from ages four to forty-four. I tutor both online and in-person, single and group classes. My students include those studying A Level/IB Maths and Further Maths; GCSE Maths; A Level/IB Economics; Mandarin Chinese; Oxbridge Admissions; Consultancy Case Preparation; and English as a foreign language. I have tutored in the UK, as well as across China and Japan. I have a lot of work experience and training with kids and am DBS certified.View Profile

A tutor above the rest
My greatest passion in life is learning and my second greatest passion is teaching which also involves learning. A little bit about me. I was raised in Turkey, France, Pakistan and the UK. I've experienced great success throughout my life due to the amazingly approachable, friendly and unforgettable teachers that I've studied with and from. This, in fact, is the foundation of my commitment to helping my students. I've been tutoring and teaching for 6 years in small and large groups, 1 to 1 lessons to classrooms, from secondary to university students. Feel free to ask me about anything.View Profile
