Graduate from UCL. Really enjoy tutoring and helping others
Hi :) I'm Alisha. Ive been told that I am an individual who has a positive can do attitude and easy going. You can let me know if this is true ? I've been tutoring for almost 9 years now and absolutely enjoy it. Especially knowing that I'm helping students to build a strong foundation to set them up for the future. I have tutored students from KS1 upto A-levels, teaching Maths and Sciences (and English to younger students). Not only have I tutored students, I have had the amazing opportunity (and a challenging yet unique experience) to also home school a number of students in the past. Misc: I am a socially active person who enjoys trying out new activities or visiting new places. Next on the to do list is sky diving (ahhhh). I also try to be actively involved in raising funds for different charities. For example, I have helped organise charity events to raise funds for educational resources and schools in rural developing countries and orphans in need.
First Year Med Student at Notts | many years experience as a Tutor :)
First Year Med Student. Here to help! Tutoring is one of my passions and I truly believe that with the right mentor a student's academic ability can improve immensely. Being a student myself, I think I have been able to grasp on what can make certain subjects daunting for kids, and I hope I can use my experiences to be beneficial to everyone. My style of tutoring will also include teaching the students about time management, key revision skills and exam techniques along with the core content of the subject. As I believe that to achieve your maximum potential in academics it is 60% knowledge, 25% exam/revision techniques and 15% time management. I am a first year medical student currently studying at the University of Nottingham and thus my schedule is quite tight. BUT I will always try to be in everyone's best interest. :)
Second year dental student, happy to help :)
Hi, my name is Abdur and I’m currently studying Dentistry at the University of Bristol. I’d describe myself as a kind and friendly person who loves to teach using evidence-based techniques. As a dental student, a lot of my time is spent learning but also teaching others as it reinforces the knowledge I’ve gained from lectures, seminars and clinical sessions. I’d describing my style of teaching as interactive and personal as everyone has their own way of grasping topics. What sets my teaching apart from others is that it integrates core topics and links the common themes which cements the information to a deeper level of understanding. This is something I’ve used in my own studies which has helped me to ranked in the top 10 for the end of Year 1 exams and over achieve over 70% in end of Year 2 exams. I have been tutoring and mentoring students since 2016. What I’ve learnt from this experience is that building confidence in students is one of the key components to boosting grades. I highlight strengths and weaknesses so we can reinforce the areas which require more attention. This is through evidence-based teaching called active recall. The purpose of this method is to stimulate the mind through questioning rather than passive learning. Passive learning is something many students are guilty of which often leads to average grades. Through active learning it highlights areas that requires more attention. Spaced repetition will help to prevent forgetting important information and enables long term storage of knowledge which is crucial for exams!
I care about my students!

4+ years experience tutoring Let’s work together to create the best you!
Hi! I’m Maryam and I study Pharmacology & Physiology at the University of Westminster. I tutor mainly GCSE Science and Maths and younger levels, as well as the 11+ entrance exams. I wanted to become a tutor because I didn’t receive the help I needed as a student; the tutors I did have were either not passionate or just passing time for the pay and they didn’t add any value onto my own work. This made me passionate in being a honest and hardworking tutor for new students, including my own siblings. I have tutored a number of students to GCSE and they have all excelled. A tutor-student arrangement should be hand in hand with both sides putting equal effort in and I strive to do that with all my students. My teaching style is adaptable to the students needs. I don’t believe in enforcing my own learning methods but working with the student to find out what works best for them depending on what kind of learner they are. I’m a self-certified foodie and love both baking and cooking and the science behind the art. I love reading, particularly Greek-inspired or mystery novels, and as I’ve gotten older I’ve started to develop an appreciation for gardening and growing - although unfortunately I’m still quite bad at keeping plants alive. I absolutely love space, and photography, and hope to combine those soon by treating myself to a big telescope to explore the sky myself.
