Mandarin Tutor Enthusiastic & Approachable!
Hello! I’m Jiaqi, a master student studying Arts Management at Manchester. I received my BA degree in English Literature and American Studies at the University of Manchester and I also hold a BA degree in English Language and Literature at Zhejiang University, a top-3 University in China. I’m a native Mandarin speaker and proficient in English. I'm very enthusiastic about teaching Mandarin and sharing Chinese culture. I have rich experience in tutoring both in China and the UK, and I believe my academic background and former work experience have fully equipped me with relevant skills. My course English Literature and American Studies has developed not only my proficient English language skills but also good understanding and critical thinking skills, which have enabled me to fully comprehend different people in various situations, and quickly generate appropriate response and resolutions. I have been a journalist and senior editor for the News Department at Zhejiang University in China for 2 years, reporting news and interviewing people, updating university news on the University official website and the WeChat official account platform. As a trans-interpreter intern at the Global Times News Press for 6 months, I highly valued audiences’ feedback and improved my translation to a better-presented version to maximumly improve information delivery and audiences’ reading experience. In January 2017, I successfully joined BBC Over To You Programme at BBC Radio Manchester through competitive interviews. Having received three professional training sessions delivered by BBC senior journalists, I started to prepare my programme “Chinese in Manchester”, regularly meeting senior BBC staff to discuss it. Working in a reporting team, I went to Chinatown to interview Chinese people from all walks of life about their experience in Manchester and successfully finished my report. Overall, I'm confident that I will be a great teacher!View Profile
Hi! My name is Ana and I am a fourth-year Psychology and Business & Management student at the University of Glasgow. I just finished my exchange year at the University of Hong Kong. Having excelled academically throughout my high school studies, I graduated first-of-class and was awarded an Honours recognition, which then led to my receiving a scholarship for studies in Spain. I am incredibly passionate about languages, as I currently learn Portuguese, Chinese and German (and I am bilingual in English). Happy to help you with your German and Chinese if you are getting started, and of course with your Spanish or English at any level! I believe that learning languages is one of the most beautiful things that you can do. A new language is a completely new world to explore: new people, a new culture, new food, new cities... Also, in high school I did Maths, Chemistry, Physics, English, Spanish, and Philosophy; all subjects which I have taught to high-school students before! Another thing that especially drives me is seeing how people progress and there, my interest in joining this platform and teaching you something that I already know about. Teaching is also the best way to learn myself and the opportunity to meet new people. Look forward to meeting you!View Profile

Passionate tutor with 3 years experience
Hello 你好! My name is Kiva. I was born and raised in Shanghai but now, I’m doing my Master's in Cultural Industries and Entrepreneurship in England. I'm an indie musician and work as a singer in London currently. I tailor optimal curricula to help students of all abilities and levels. Whether you need to practice speaking, prepare for HSK, learn about Chinese culture or you are a complete beginner, I would be happy to help you learn new things:) We can discuss a wide range of topics(current events, trending topics, a celebrity speech, your life experience...)to get your out of the box and expand your vocabulary. I can prepare for real-life scenarios by using pictures, videos and body languages to spark the interest of the student. In the class, normally, I share the screen with the student while I’m typing, I take the notes and write down the points that you need to improve and learn. Combining both of these methods, students can prepare for travelling, relocation, exams, and everyday life. I love getting to meet intriguing people all over the world. Feel free to drop me any question. Hope I can see you soon:)View Profile

Passionate and experienced multilingual tutor!
I have 4 years’ experience as a private tutor and now a full-time tutor, as I have been for just over 6 months. I have experience teaching a range of students in terms of age (from 5 to over 60) and level. I have taught English as a Foreign Language, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, German and Latin as well as English and Maths (up to 13+) to a total of more than 50 students (including some groups). Many of these students have been learning for exams, such as GCSEs and A-Levels, while some have been casual learners. While flexibility is essential and I try to tailor my approach to each student, I base my tutoring on transmitting my passion and expertise in learning to the student. As a speaker of many languages, I have considerable experience of the language learning process and know-how of language learning techniques. I use this to predict common pitfalls and difficulties for students, and to explain these by breaking them down in simple terms. In this way, the student’s confidence increases and they feel able to reach their targets. While I have high standards, I also believe students will naturally want to learn more if they have fun. I often use cultural materials such as books, films or songs in my lessons so that the student sees the advantages of language learning and so starts to learn proactively and thus improve faster.View Profile
