I love teaching Maths and Science and you’ll learn to love it as much as I do!
I have worked as an independent tutor for over 5 years and I am currently studying Biochemistry at the University of Warwick. For 7 months during my gap year, I worked as an SEN Learning Support Assistant in a comprehensive school in order to gain some wider knowledge and experience in the education system as I would like to eventually become a teacher of Science once I leave university. With this experience, I am also suited to work with children facing a wide range of barriers to learning and ensuring that they reach their full potential.
Bsc Maths and Education | 4 years experience | willing to help anyone :)
I have completed my degree in mathematics and education and have been teaching maths and English for a couple of years. I am an aspiring Secondary school maths teacher and am just about to undergo my training in the educational field. I am very eager to make learning an enjoyable experience with good results. Please feel free to get in touch if you feel your child could do with some extra help to keep on top of their school work over the summer period and during the term time. I have been teaching students between the ages of 5-18 years for the past 3-4 years as a tutor. I have mentored in a couple of secondary schools in south London and in Hastings for 2 years whilst studying at university. This has enabled me to understand how different students approach mathematics and English and adapt my teaching methods to suit each individual. I understand that often students are not keen to engage in a classroom setting and find it more comfortable to learn with less people around them and I am willing to adhere to students' needs and wants. I have experience with working with students who struggle to focus in mainstream environments (especially with students who suffer from ADHD and Autism). My aims for teaching mathematics is to make it less intimidating for students and for teaching English, to make it less of a chore to write essays and more of a way to express ideas and emotion; thus achieving good results.

I am to make a tutoring session fun, interesting and productive. I was also an academic scholar at Marlborough college and part of my role for this was being a mentor to pupils doing their GCSE’s two years below. I am currently studying at University College London studying PPE (philosophy, politics and economics) with data science.

It’s all about the attitude!
Since university, I have developed a career in tutoring and training. I currently work on behalf of the Disabled Students’ Allowances (DSA) tutoring students from universities all across the south of England. I have over 500 hours of online tutoring experience, teaching anything from study skills to English and even software packages. I offer a practical and flexible approach, delivering sessions in a patient and friendly manner and always taking the time to build a trusting relationship with my students. I’d love to hear from you with any questions you may have, so do get in touch and we can get chatting!
I have worked 13 part-time jobs, in 5 different fields, while studying full-time, A-Level onward. Anything really is possible, when goals are set and effort is put in. My tutoring experience is scattered throughout my employment history. I started tutoring at 17, focusing on GCSE English. At 19, I focused on Primary Maths and English and at 21, I taught A-Level Religious Studies and GCSE English at an independent college. As a graduate of 2020, I understand how difficult it is to study sometimes, but just know, that there is always help that will be offered. From there, you can create your path with confidence. Now, I can finally hone and develop my skills, involving myself in the field of religion, where I always hope to be teaching and be in a continuous learning environment. My method revolves around the students needs. I listen to what it is that they need support with, creating dialogue along the way; that is how I mould my lessons, with the aim to give the best possible chance and experience regarding their learning. I like to think my lessons are interactively fun, while inspiring an inquisitive mind. I make PowerPoints and it is my main teaching method. With games/quizzes/puzzles being used in revision sessions. Please do get in touch if you have any queries and we can have a chat about anything to support your development in education. Thanks in advance. ☺️ A.H.
Structured revision and learning for academic success!
I am hugely passionate about essays! To get an essay structure right, to ensure a flow of argument, and a continuity of well-selected evidence is to ensure a high grade. With this in mind, my tutoring will prepare you with both a depth and breadth of knowledge, together with an academic rigour ahead of your exams or coursework. Some things about me: I’m incredibly interested and passionate in the interplay of politics, religion and human rights. I’m about to start my Cambridge degree in Theology. I have been the recipient of a number of awards: - The London School of Economics’ Political Review Essay Competition (1st Place) - The United Nations’ FERA Partner Award at the Plural Plus short film competition - Finalist in the John Locke Institute’s Philosophy Essay Competition - Awarded an Honorary Academic Scholarship at Charterhouse School
Medical Sciences Student, 2+ years of experience at a licensed tuition centre :)
Studying Medical Sciences at The University of Edinburgh has been an experience that has not only helped me understand the importance and value of education, but also taught me to have pride for the achievements that you accomplish at every stage of life; emanating from an individuals hard work and effort, this in itself is a great motivator. Having a years worth of experience tutoring KS3, GCSE and A level students at a licensed tuition centre, I realised my personal aim is not only to aid my tutees in achieving their fullest potential but allowing them to go beyond so that they become ever-gratifying to their dedication, and not only walk away from their schooling years with a sheet of paper that rewards their diligence, but also a work ethic and skill set that opens up many opportunities in life. Academia addresses more than just memorising the examinable materials. Every subject tests different degrees of critical thinking, application of knowledge and strategic answering. Recognising the importance of being able to do so is vital, both in and out of the exam hall, in order to achieve success. I aim to provide my tutees with a stress relieving teaching experience that is engaging and effective, all while honing their thinking skills, alongside making learning new content a passion rather than a chore. My teaching methods ensure that the child is always looking forward to their next lesson, which enforces a positive mindset - vital to effective learning!
Dedicated tutor and who is ready to teach!
My name is Tilly, I have done lots of tutoring, mainly at GCSE level, but am very happy to help students of all ages with any school support and things they are struggling with. I tutor up to GCSE level (Maths, English, Science, RS, Geography, French, Spanish) and up to A level for French and Spanish. I speak English, French and Spanish fluently, as well as a bit of Italian and German. I am currently living in London, and am happy to travel to suit my students’ needs. I am working as a teaching assistant at Francis Holland School, so am used to working with and teaching children. I have always had very good reviews for my tutoring, and appreciate any feedback. I aim for a very open and relaxed approach to my tutoring so as to make my tutees feel comfortable about asking me any questions. I have had coronavirus, so no need to worry about that!
