Structured revision and learning for academic success!
I am hugely passionate about essays! To get an essay structure right, to ensure a flow of argument, and a continuity of well-selected evidence is to ensure a high grade. With this in mind, my tutoring will prepare you with both a depth and breadth of knowledge, together with an academic rigour ahead of your exams or coursework. Some things about me: I’m incredibly interested and passionate in the interplay of politics, religion and human rights. I’m about to start my Cambridge degree in Theology. I have been the recipient of a number of awards: - The London School of Economics’ Political Review Essay Competition (1st Place) - The United Nations’ FERA Partner Award at the Plural Plus short film competition - Finalist in the John Locke Institute’s Philosophy Essay Competition - Awarded an Honorary Academic Scholarship at Charterhouse SchoolView Profile
First Class History of Art Graduate, and Theology Graduate Student at Oxford
I have the most to offer to A Level students, but would also be willing to work flexibly with first year undergraduates on both essay refinement, and also in designing a schedule of additional material above and beyond the content of any course formally studied. Above all, I'm happy to look over and talk through work before its formal submission at GCSE, A Level, and first year of undergraduate study. Alongside taking a First Class degree at the University of Buckingham in the History of Western Art, I took an additional specialised research track in English Literature, producing First Class work across all areas of study and research. I have experience in tutoring International Baccalaureate and A Level, and have supported admissions to Russell Group universities.View Profile
A passionate and experienced individual with a genuine love of learning!
I have 6 months experience tutoring in a local secondary school, and look forward to sharing my passion for learning to my students! I have just finished my first year at Oxford University, where I achieved a first overall. My techniques focus on encouraging students to really engage with what they're learning, through having discussions and answering questions. For A Level, the key to succeeding is not simply memorizing your textbooks, but exercising your analytical and critical thinking to go beyond what the syllabus teaches you. I know that many people struggle with learning techniques, and I emphasise active recall to all my students as a scientifically proven method for retaining knowledge. Having studied at Oxford for a year so far, I have gained a number of skills from its unique tutorial system, and hope to employ these techniques in my own teaching.View Profile
Passionate GCSE and A Level RE/Philosophy & Ethics teacher.
Hi there, My name is Andrew Dickson and I have been teaching at Ilkley Grammar School since September 2015. I teach Religious Education to GCSE level and Philosophy and Ethics to A Level. I believe in a personalised approach to education thus ensuring that my students will have the best possible chances of success in their educational journey. I have a variety of resources specific to both the GCSE and A Level courses that my pupils have found immensely beneficial and I am happy to share these with your child. Pupils under my responsibility also receive a tailored revision plan, including frequent assessments to embed key language, exam technique and terminology including detailed oral and written feedback on how to improve. Last year, I undertook training with AQA to become an examiner for the exam board. Due to this, I have an intimate understanding of what examiners are looking for in written responses. Thank you for reading and hopefully we will be in touch soon. Andrew.View Profile
Dedicated tutor and who is ready to teach!
My name is Tilly, I have done lots of tutoring, mainly at GCSE level, but am very happy to help students of all ages with any school support and things they are struggling with. I tutor up to GCSE level (Maths, English, Science, RS, Geography, French, Spanish) and up to A level for French and Spanish. I speak English, French and Spanish fluently, as well as a bit of Italian and German. I am currently living in London, and am happy to travel to suit my students’ needs. I am working as a teaching assistant at Francis Holland School, so am used to working with and teaching children. I have always had very good reviews for my tutoring, and appreciate any feedback. I aim for a very open and relaxed approach to my tutoring so as to make my tutees feel comfortable about asking me any questions. I have had coronavirus, so no need to worry about that!View Profile

Supportive qualified primary teacher
I gained my PGCE from the University of Nottingham and am currently supply teaching across various schools. Teaching in different schools and age ranges provides me with an in-depth knowledge of the National Curriculum requirements of all subjects at all primary age levels, whilst I am able to adapt on a daily basis. I cater for different learning styles through a mixed learning approach as I use various methods to help all learners – this includes the use of visual resources and learning through a hands-on approach. My lessons include varied activities, promoting creativity, and I ensure that high expectations are set and pupils’ learning is stretched accordingly to achieve these expectations. I am caring, supportive and positive. My enthusiasm for education transfers well during teaching, allowing children to develop a thirst for learning. I understand that each child is unique and all require a secure, caring and stimulating atmosphere, and I can help children to meet their potential through an environment that is safe, supports risk-taking, and invites a sharing of ideas.View Profile
