PGCE Trained Teacher/Private Tutor for Early Years, KS1 & KS2/7+ Exam Prep

I am a qualified EYFS and KS1 teacher. Having completed my PGCE in Primary Education in 2015, I have been able to teach in two different boroughs. In my first year, I taught in the borough of Richmond where I taught a Reception class. Here, I was able to use my skills to bring my class up to the national expectation at the end of the year. I am aware of the national curriculum expectations within this phase. EYFS differs from the KS1 and KS2 Curriculum as it focuses on 7 areas of learning. Here, it is important to gauge how best the child learns. Opportunities within the EYFS environment allow for the class to become independent learners, and I am able to create creative evironments in order for learning to occur. Here, skills in both English and Maths are embedded. The expection with English is that all students must be able to apply their phonics knowledge in order to form a legible sentence. Through the use of song, art, word games and handwriting practice, curriculum expectations will most certainly be met. This is similar with maths, where practical activities have allowed for critical thinking to take place. In my second year of teaching, I taught a Yr 1 class in Newham. Here, I was able to again bring my class up to the national expectation, with accelerated progress in certain subjects. The KS1 Curriculum picks up from the EYFS Curriculum as it expands on Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar within Years 1 and 2. These are all skills that I have practised with my previous class on a daily basis. Within Year 1 the expectation at the end of the year is to pass the Phonics Screening which all my class were able to do. With maths, the aim is to develop reasoning skills as well mental arithmetic. I tutor Early Year’s, KS1 and KS2. I also have high expectations and believe students need to be taught the skills to become resilient learners.

Biology Lecturer | QMUL graduate

As a Biology Lecturer teaching at Level 3, and with previous tutoring experience, I believe I am the ideal candidate in this role as a private tutor. My current role as a Lecturer has developed my skillset considerably, prompting me to find new ways of explaining concepts so they would be understood by students of a wide range of abilities. Additionally, having served as a private tutor and as a mentor for first year university students, I learned how students can benefit from individual support away from the classroom environment. Furthermore, having worked in a primary school, a care home, a GP surgery, in retail, and shadowed consultants in a hospital, I have gained experience in a range of settings, thus diversifying my experience. In addition to my work experience, I believe I have the academic credentials to be a successful tutor. My degree study in biomedical sciences has endowed me with intimate knowledge in my subject area, which has culminated in a research project in my final year which has pushed me right to the forefront of the field. As a student having gone through the stages of the education β€˜ladder’, I have gained first-hand knowledge of what kind of approach to take with different types of test at different levels, including admissions tests such as the BMAT, UKCAT, and 11+ examinations. I have also understood the need for education to be tailored for the needs of each student to help maximise their potential. Having gone through all the levels of academic education up to degree level has given me a strong academic base and in-depth subject knowledge that will help me to deliver the highest quality of education. Overall, my academic success has been reflected in my university, A Level, and GCSE grades, as well as those achieved grades in the admissions tests.

Excellent Civil Engineering student offering A level Maths & Sciences support

I am a civil engineering student and I studied Maths, Physics and Chemistry as my A level subjects, from which I got outstanding results, A*AA. This led me to studying civil engineering at a Russell Group Uni - Warwick University! I am also working at the same time at a big Engineering company as an Assistant Civil Engineer. My excellent academic career has nurtured in me a natural talent for teaching. My experiences have taught me how to tackle one problem at a time, and I believe that using this approachβ€”paired with my unconventional examples that force students to think outside the boxβ€”I can truly provide an excellent understanding and explanation. One of the main reasons you are seeing this ad is that I really enjoy teaching Maths, numbers and everything that has to do with it, because every day, every step is Maths, believe me! Also, I am very dedicated to making others understand it better and change their attitude towards this subject, as I hear many people say they 'hate it'. So, if that is you, you're in the right place! I also love teaching Sciences as they communicate us the way the universe is created and why everything happens! The first time I realised that people understand the way I explain things, was with my friends; sometimes they would understand me better than the teacher and I have volunteered at school and other organizations to teach other students. Most of the students I have taught were university students who struggled with the Engineering Mathematics modules, Structural Mechanics etc. I have taught A level/BTEC/KS3/KS4 students too!
