I love teaching Maths and Science and you’ll learn to love it as much as I do!
I have worked as an independent tutor for over 5 years and I am currently studying Biochemistry at the University of Warwick. For 7 months during my gap year, I worked as an SEN Learning Support Assistant in a comprehensive school in order to gain some wider knowledge and experience in the education system as I would like to eventually become a teacher of Science once I leave university. With this experience, I am also suited to work with children facing a wide range of barriers to learning and ensuring that they reach their full potential.
A fifth year medical student with a passion for teaching and management.
I have over 7 years of tutoring experience, covering one-to-one, classroom, and lecture style teaching. I have 2 years of experience of teaching students with special needs. I take an individualised approach, and tailor my teaching style for the student, and focus on achieving their goals. I am not only successful at maintaining an already excellent level of achievement, but am experienced in taking students experiencing difficulties, and guiding them through their more challenging subjects. I also have 5 years of experience helping students in their admission to medcine and dentistry at university. I have lectured on the UKCAT to over 300 students and on medical interviews to over 600 students. I have personally helped over 50 students with their personal statements, and guided them throughout their application process. I welcome any requests to reach GCSE level maths, and medical and dental admissions. Different subjects at GCSE or A Level will be taken on a case by case basis. Due to my experience, and success, my lessons are priced at £40 per hour.

They are specifically tailored for each student’s requirements. • Students are assigned homework each week to consolidate the lesson content. This is marked before the next lesson so we can go through feedback at the start of the next lesson. • I teach in a very interactive style which encourages student engagement. I find this is more effective in allowing the student to understand the content, rather than just memorising and regurgitating. • I try to relate the content being taught to interesting real-world examples to make the lessons more relevant and exciting. • I place a large emphasis on learning from past papers since this allows students to learn exactly what is required to maximise their marks in the exam.

Medical Sciences Student, 2+ years of experience at a licensed tuition centre :)
Studying Medical Sciences at The University of Edinburgh has been an experience that has not only helped me understand the importance and value of education, but also taught me to have pride for the achievements that you accomplish at every stage of life; emanating from an individuals hard work and effort, this in itself is a great motivator. Having a years worth of experience tutoring KS3, GCSE and A level students at a licensed tuition centre, I realised my personal aim is not only to aid my tutees in achieving their fullest potential but allowing them to go beyond so that they become ever-gratifying to their dedication, and not only walk away from their schooling years with a sheet of paper that rewards their diligence, but also a work ethic and skill set that opens up many opportunities in life. Academia addresses more than just memorising the examinable materials. Every subject tests different degrees of critical thinking, application of knowledge and strategic answering. Recognising the importance of being able to do so is vital, both in and out of the exam hall, in order to achieve success. I aim to provide my tutees with a stress relieving teaching experience that is engaging and effective, all while honing their thinking skills, alongside making learning new content a passion rather than a chore. My teaching methods ensure that the child is always looking forward to their next lesson, which enforces a positive mindset - vital to effective learning!
