Biology Lecturer | QMUL graduate
As a Biology Lecturer teaching at Level 3, and with previous tutoring experience, I believe I am the ideal candidate in this role as a private tutor. My current role as a Lecturer has developed my skillset considerably, prompting me to find new ways of explaining concepts so they would be understood by students of a wide range of abilities. Additionally, having served as a private tutor and as a mentor for first year university students, I learned how students can benefit from individual support away from the classroom environment. Furthermore, having worked in a primary school, a care home, a GP surgery, in retail, and shadowed consultants in a hospital, I have gained experience in a range of settings, thus diversifying my experience. In addition to my work experience, I believe I have the academic credentials to be a successful tutor. My degree study in biomedical sciences has endowed me with intimate knowledge in my subject area, which has culminated in a research project in my final year which has pushed me right to the forefront of the field. As a student having gone through the stages of the education ‘ladder’, I have gained first-hand knowledge of what kind of approach to take with different types of test at different levels, including admissions tests such as the BMAT, UKCAT, and 11+ examinations. I have also understood the need for education to be tailored for the needs of each student to help maximise their potential. Having gone through all the levels of academic education up to degree level has given me a strong academic base and in-depth subject knowledge that will help me to deliver the highest quality of education. Overall, my academic success has been reflected in my university, A Level, and GCSE grades, as well as those achieved grades in the admissions tests.View Profile

Seasoned tutor and undergraduate at Aston University
Hi, I am currently Msc in Chemical Engineering at Aston University. Seeking help with understanding and to then be able to progress The first lesson will be dedicated into find ing the students weaknesses and then try to correct these weaknesses with exam preperation and learning techniques. Every student has a high potential and I believe I am the one that can unlock it for them, with consistent guidance. I have taught a variety of students ranging before from primary school children to a level students. I have spent a considerable amount of time within a secondary school, which has helped me to understand the various amount of students in every class. I am able to be very flexible in my style of teaching. I adapt my method of teaching to the needs and learning techniques of my student. I believe in having a good relationship with my students. This results in bettered grades.View Profile
Experienced Tutor | Undergraduate in Mathematics and Philosophy
My name is Will and I am a student at the University of York. I am currently studying a BSc Mathematics and Philosophy (equal). I would describe myself as very patient, confident and approachable person with a passion for allowing people to reach their potential. I am extremely hard-working and will do anything to make sure I do the best job that I can. Last year I taught 2 students, one GCSE and one A-Level, both maths. Both were very successful and found that my tutoring improved their overall grade. See further for my teaching style: Experience has taught me that the best approach is to always be patient. I let the student dictate the pace of learning, taking more time on topics that are more of struggle for the student. I am extremely hard-working and organising making sure that the student is clear about the progress in their learning. I would usually start a session figuring out the topic the student like to work in then progressing with the main teaching part. Obviously all students learn different ways with some people being more visual learners and some auditory. As such, I have a wide range of techniques to make sure that the student gets the most from the sessions. These range from, worked examples of questions, to a step by step method of how to answer a question, as well as past papers with written model solutions. I would say that I am a very creative person which allows me to adapt my teaching style when the opportunity calls for it. Getting close to the exam period I will try to give techniques to apply during exams as well as how to come with stress or pressure during this time. Finally I have set my prices significantly much lower than other tutors out there. I live by the philosophy that price shouldn't be a barrier in somebody achieving their potential. I hope the prices seem fair for the service that I offer.View Profile
