As a fully qualified teacher and highly rated tutor with over 400 hours of tutoring and a decade of experience teaching ages 11 to 18, I am able to provide you with assistance in the new syllabuses in Computer Science from GCSE up to A Level, BTEC and Cam Tech IT / Computing, and Maths year 6 up to GCSE. I am a Computing At School Master Teacher which means that I also teach other teachers how to teach Computing and Computer Science so you can rest assured that my knowledge of the subject is excellent and always up to date. Having helped students each year complete their UCAS applications through both state & independent sectors, I have a wealth of experience of the process including writing a personal statement that will help you stand out from the crowd. My students have progressed to Oxbridge and their university retention rate is good as part of our tutoring experience is fostering a habit of independent learning.
Award winning Maths & Computing Tutor | KS3, GCSE, A-Level
Hi, I'm Ross! I have been tutoring for over 5 years and I’m passionate about helping students reach their full potential, whilst also enjoying the learning experience. I offer Maths and Computing lessons between KS3 and A-Level and I’m currently focussing on online tuition. -----Experience----- • I have tutored more than 20 students for a total of over 400 hours • Worked with students aged 11-18 of a wide range of abilities • Master’s degree in Computing from Imperial College London • DBS certified -----Teaching Style----- • Every student is different and so are my lessons. They are specifically tailored for each student’s requirements. • Students are assigned homework each week to consolidate the lesson content. This is marked before the next lesson so we can go through feedback at the start of the next lesson. • I teach in a very interactive style which encourages student engagement. I find this is more effective in allowing the student to understand the content, rather than just memorising and regurgitating. • I try to relate the content being taught to interesting real-world examples to make the lessons more relevant and exciting. • I place a large emphasis on learning from past papers since this allows students to learn exactly what is required to maximise their marks in the exam.
