I spent a good decade in the energy sector before finally discovering what I really enjoy is teaching, so I ventured back into education, grabbed the nearest degree in Economics (actually that was fun hard work - truly applied mathematics), and then headed out to train as a maths teacher. That’s something I’d thought about for a while. Lots of people try to actively avoid it, but I was lucky that I had a good start by mum and then a fab maths teacher right at the end of secondary school. Tutoring is what I enjoy best of all.
